It has been a long time since I wrote an article here. This is the most hectic part of my life being in final year of college, nevertheless I am enjoying it. Of all the things, doing product reviews and interacting with you girls is what I love the most.So here I am with another hair care product review that I tried recently. This is the Revlon Outrageous shampoo meant for color treated hair. It was actually for my mom who has colored her hair black. However I decided to try it for review’s sake.
Hi my friends! Today I am going to review a lip color that came as a gift to me a while ago. This is a cool brown shade called Revlon Color Burst Lipstick in Shade 60 Chocolate.
Product Description:
Instant burst of rich, true color with a feather light feel
Elasticolorâ„¢ technology provides immediate color release and hugs lips with a burst of weightless color that feels like a second skin
Price and Quantity:Â
Rs. 610 for 3.7 grams
My Take on  Revlon Colorburst Chocolate Lipstick:
I like the packaging since it looks classy and sophisticated. It comes in a matte black case which has crisscross dents and the brand name is written across the center. There is a sticker at the bottom of the lipstick with the shade name and number on it. The lid snaps shut with a click and the lipstick can be easily carried around in a makeup bag.
This is a gorgeous chocolate brown shade which can be described as a chocolate color with a subtle hint of plum when worn on the lips. It has no shimmers or glitter and it gives a glossy finish on application. This lip color is highly pigmented and can be ideal for party or festive wear. For daily use, one swipe will do. The intensity is build-able. This shade would suit all Indian skin tones as it is a very classic color. It gives a beautiful definition to the lips.
The texture is very smooth, soft & creamy yet it doesn’t break or melt off. You can apply it directly or use a lip brush. It glides smoothly and effortlessly on lips and it is also moisturizing. I usually use a lip balm before applying a lipstick. There was no flaking problem with this lip color otherwise too. The lip color is not greasy, patchy or heavy but is very light on my lips. It gives an even finish to the lips and doesn’t accentuate the fine lines. Pigmentation in lips will be covered well. A prerequisite for using any lip stick is exfoliation. Otherwise any lip color will look ghastly.
The staying power is 4-5 hours on my lips with a little eating and drinking. It transfers easily on to cups. It wears off evenly but leaves a mild tint on the lips. Â It can easily removed too and doesn’t create a mess.
Why I like this Lipstick?:
Flattering shade
Feels light on lips
Smooth and creamy texture
Moisturizing
Good color payoff
Hides pigmentation
Travel friendly
Classy and stylish pack
Why I don’t like this Lipstick?:
Price is on the higher side
Transfers easily
MABH Rating: 4.5/5
Final Word:Â
It is a beautiful shade that everyone should try. The texture and pigmentation makes this product a worthy piece.
Hi girls! How are you? I hope all of you are happy, chirpy and beautiful, as ever. I have a confession to make. I always fall of a prey to products that say words like, ”clear complexion”, ”fairness”, ”glowing skin” (Even though most of them never do exactly what they claim!) Given that, there is one more such product I happened to pick up, few months back. It is Revlon touch and glow advanced fairness cream.
Although, the fairness claim as such turned out to be false, as expected. Still, it turned out to be a decent product. I got my second tube free with my mom’s hair color. Yay! Â Read on to know more about my experience with the product.
(I always try to research a bit about the contents of the product. I might not give you excellent advice but here is a little something I would like to share. One of reasons why honey is good for your face is because it has antioxidants which help to repair skin damage and give your face a lift. Honey also contains potassium that helps in treatment for acne. Dual sunscreen means the product offers protection from UV A as well as UV B and prevents skin darkening.)
Price and Quantity: Rs. 165 Â for 50 grams
My Take:
This fairness cream comes in a soft pink and cream coloured tube. It has a screw cap, which closes tightly. It is light weight and easy to carry around.
The cream is creamy white in color and it has a lotion like consistency. It is not at all runny, not thick either. It spreads well on skin and gets completely absorbed in skin. Please see the picture, that much amount is sufficient for entire face. It has a mild smell which goes off real fast. So, it should not be a problem for irritable noses.
The cream leaves the skin with a matte finish. Thankfully, it does not leave my skin with a chalky layer (like fair and lovely). It feels very light on my skin with no greasy feeling at all. I have not experienced any break outs or allergy with the product. Overall, it is a decent day cream.
Why I like:
Feels light on skin
It has sunscreen
Mild fragrance
No chalky layer on skin after use, as with Fair and lovely
Helps in getting rid of daily tan
No breakouts
Affordable
Travel friendly
Why I don’t like?:
Fake fairness claim, I did not improve my complexion
Final Verdict:
It turned out to be a very fine day cream for me with moisturisers and sunscreens. I would not say that it helped me improve my complexion but it has protected further tanning for me.
Rating: 4/5
Do I Recommend?:
If you are looking out for all in one product that works as a moisturiser, fairness cream as well as mild sunscreen. Go for it.
Would I Repurchase?: Yes, most probably. Though, I never stop hunting for better products 😀
