Revlon Pink Peony Powder Blush Review, Photos and Swatch

Hi friends,

A pop of color adds so much prettiness to our face. It makes you look younger and cheerful. Revlon Pink Peony is my first blush. Blushes were not really my forte as I had a tough time finding a shade to my liking. That was when I got this product as a gift.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 850 for 5.1 grams

My Take:

The blush comes in a square pack with a transparent lid on the top. The packaging is sturdy, travel friendly and the transparent lid allows the user to pick the shade easily from a stack of other blushes. A pop up mirror is also provided that allows you to apply blush on the go. But the mirror pops up quite powerfully. Some of the blush had actually chipped off from the sides the first time I pressed the button. I am really careful ever since.

The color is a nice mauve pink that is not shimmery making it a perfect wear for the day time. The color is very subtle when applied but that gives a good control on the amount you want to apply. One can always build it up if needed. For the color to show up well you need to go over twice at least. The proper way of wearing a blush is to start at the apple of your cheeks and brush up towards the hairline. The shade would suit medium to fair skinned girls.

Even though no mention of ingredients scares me out, it has never irritated my oily acne prone skin. I find it very light to wear. It is easy to pick up the blush with a brush and even a beginner cannot make a mistake by going over the top with the color. Brushes meant especially for this purpose would be more useful than the small brush provided with the product. However, the bristles are not harsh on the skin. It might be of use while travelling.

The staying power is around 3-4 hours. There is no hint of color left behind after this period and one has to reapply.

Why I like?:

  • Subtle wash of color
  • Travel friendly compact packaging
  • Does not irritate the skin nor causes break outs
  • Mirror and brush included.

Why I don’t like?:

  • Average staying power
  • I find the price a bit high (what do you say girls, is it okay?)

Rating: 3.75/5

Overall verdict:

An understated pink blush that is ideal for college or office wear. For the ones who are still skeptical about getting a blush, please get one soon and see the difference it makes to your whole look 🙂

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Lovesick Passionnee Review

by Arpita

Hi All,

Today I am going to review the Revlon lip stain in lovesickpPassionnee shade. I won this balm from Revlon’s Twitter contest. However, please note that my opinion, my experience, the pictures are completely mine and I have NOT received any payment for doing this review at all and even if I did not write this review, Revlon won’t mind at all because this is not a sponsored review or anything like that.

Price:

Rs. 600 for 2.7 g

My Experience:

Packaging: It comes in a super cute pink retractable tube kind of packaging. Everything has been printed nicely on the sticker stuck on the tube and the packaging looks super cool and it is travel friendly.

Shade: Lovesick Passionne is a beautiful bright pink shade with cool undertones. It contains micro silver glitters.

Fragrance, Texture and Moisturizing Power: It smells minty and exactly the same like Polo candy (That round minty candy with a hole in the middle) 😛 The lip stain has a creamy texture and it glides on very easily onto the lips and provides normal coverage in a few swipes. I do not have much lip pigmentation and so I cannot comment on the pigmentation coverage. It is quite moisturizing for my lips but super dry lips may need a good lip balm over it. One thing I do not like is the glitters present. The color settles in the fine lines of the lips.

Lasting Power: The color lasts on for about 2 hours and then the stain last for about 1-1.5 more hours. Therefore, in total, the lasting power of this one is of about 3-4 hours, which is good! A thing that pinches me is the price of the product but for the quality, it is totally worth it 😀

PROS:

  • Packaging
  • Moisturizing power
  • Lasting power of about 3-4 hours
  • The color is cute
  • Quality and Quantity
  • No wastage of the product due to retractable packaging
  • Minty polo candy like fragrance
  • The stain it leaves behind looks good
  • Long shelf life of about 3 years from the date of manufacture
  • Brightens up my face

CONS:

  • Silvery Glitter particles
  • Price
  • Settles in fine lines

Final Verdict: I have only one word for this which is ‘fantabulous’! Must buy Lip stain from Revlon 🙂

My Experience:

I bought the palette “Moonlit Jewels”. Read on to find out how it fared.

Packaging: The palette has four eye shadow colors, round in shape and separately stacked in a row. The shadow case is made up of sturdy plastic and I can really vouch for that as I have dropped it a couple of times but it still is intact. The lid is flip open types and transparent. The packaging is very travel friendly.

Color, Texture & Pigmentation:
The four colors are very pretty and versatile and will suit most Indian skin tones. The palette has got a cobalt blue, forest green, wooden brown and a peach-ish brown shade. The lightest color work great as a brow highlighter.

How it works?: These are creamy eye shadows with awesome pigmentation and blend-ability. The colors provide a glam shimmery look. The palette does not come with an applicator or brush and you have to buy one separately or else can be easily applied with finger tips too. The product is fragrance free.
