My Shopping Experience:

After reading ravings MUA reviews on the blogosphere, I finally decided to try their makeup products. My order got delivered within 2 weeks and I am so glad about it. They say it may take up to 4 weeks for the MUA order to get delivered in India. However, 4 Pencils were missing in my order! I was so disappointed about it and mailed them for a refund. It may be the fault of courier people I guess.

Though I am loving the products I got for the price, I am not fully satisfied with the shopping experience. I think MUA should concentrate a bit more on packaging the order. All the products I received are in good condition, new and well wrapped in a plastic sheet.

I am not planning to shop from them any soon again, but I will surely haul again when they run free shipping offer or something like that. The quality of the products is a steal for the price!

Have you ever shopped from MUA? How was your experience?

P.S: Do let me know in the comment section which product you want me to review first! 🙂

The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel Review

by Radhika

Hello Cupcakes!
I am back with another review. This time I will be reviewing a shower gel from my favourite brand ‘The Body Shop’. It is an olive shower gel, after having a good experience with the olive scrub, I thought of buying the shower gel too. Continue reading to know more.

Claims of the Body Scrub:

Packed with skin-softening oleic acid, olive oil has been used for centuries throughout the Mediterranean as a moisturizer. Legend has that athletes in ancient Greece would rub olive oil onto their bodies. So it’s only natural that our Community Trade organic olive oil should come from southern Italy where it’s grown on family farms. We pay the farmers of the Nuevo Cliento co-operative, our Community Trade partner, a fair and guaranteed price that enables them to work their land, build their future, and stay in their communities.

– Community Trade organic olive oil helps to condition skin.
– Glycerin is a water-soluble moisturizer that also enriches foam and lather.

Price:

INR 395 for 250 ml

My Take on The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel:

This is my first shower gel from The body shop. I usually find them a bit expensive, but thought of buying this one by looking at the goodness of olives. :D. The shower gel comes in a clear bottle with a flip top cap. I really like the packaging as you can see the amount of product left.

The gel is of olive green color (as expected :P) and has a nice consistency which is not too thick or runny. It spreads easily on the skin and thus only small quantity is required.

The fragrance is not very strong but mild just like olives. It doesn’t smell all that sweet, but is very refreshing. It’s the perfect smell that wakes you up early in the. But I must stay the staying power for the smell is better than others available in the market, and lasts for 1-2 hours after shower.

Now coming to its cleansing properties, it lathers pretty well and gives a nice squeaky feeling without making you feel slippery. It moisturizes the skin really well; I do not feel the need of using a moisturizer in summer after using this shower gel. So it is perfect for dry skin people too.

PROS of The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel:

  • Smells very fresh
  • Contains pure olive oil
  • Soap free
  • Suitable for dry-skin beauties too
  • Easily available.
  • Spreads easily on the skin
  • One bottle goes on for pretty long.
  • Lathers easily and pretty well

CONS of The Body Shop Olive Shower Gel:

  • A bit expensive

MABH Rating: 4.5/5

Would I recommend it to others?:

Definitely! Not for the price but the luxurious experience it provides.

Palmolive Thermal Spa Skin Renewal Shower Gel Review

by Arshita

Hello dear friends!
I personally love body washes and shower gels. They are easier to use and also hygienic. So, today I will review Palmolive Thermal Spa Skin Renewal (Crushed Coconut and Jojoba Butter Extract) shower gel. I used body washes from this brand when I was kid, and at that time they did not have variants like they have now.

This particular product interested me because of its contents i.e. Coconut and Jojoba Butter. Both of them are great for skin, so I opted for this one. Now, here are the details.

Claims of the Shower Gel:

Enjoy the virtues of SPA-inspired treatment every day in your shower with new Palmolive Thermal SPA Skin Renewal shower gel. Its deliciously creamy formula with Jojoba butter and Crushed Coconut extracts will help retain your natural moisture to reveal soft, supple skin while gently renewing it. It helps scrubbing action. Your skin is soft and beautiful radiant! Dermatologically tested.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 135 for 250 ml.

Key Ingredients:

Aqua, Sodium C12-13 Pareth Sulfate (*P) / Sodium Laureth Sulfate (*H),  Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Parfum, Glycol Distearate, Prunus Armeniaca Seed Powder, Sodium Hydroxide, DMDM Hydantoin, Laureth-4, Testrasodium EDTA, Sodium Benzoate, Hydrogeneted Jojoba oil, Cocos Nucifera oil, CI 77891.

Usage Directions:

Pour a little Palmolive Thermal SPA Skin Renewal shower gel on your wet loofah. Apply gently over wet skin. For best result, use loofah to work up rich, fragrant lather before rinsing off.

Shelf life:

24 months.

My Take on Palmolive Thermal Spa Skin Renewal Shower Gel:

I bought this last month, when it was quite hot summer. To begin with, Palmolive Thermal SPA Skin Renewal shower gel comes in a nice curvy bottle with a flip top cap.

It smells exactly like coconut but in a better and refreshing way. I don’t like coconut smell but the other fragrances mixed with it make it very soothing and fresh. It would be wrong to call it shower gel as the product is a thick white cream like consistency. It also has tiny dark brown and yellow particles in it.

The bottle was full with the shower gel, no complains about the amount of the product. Now, coming to my experience with it, I used it with and without loofah and both the time I loved it. It lathers pretty well alone, but when using with loofah, I have to take a good quantity of it to lather well. And yes, it does work as scrub when used without loofah. The particles are mild and good for mild scrubbing. It rinses off very easily, does not leave any slippery effect.

The smell does not stay for even average time. But my skin sure stays soft for a long time. My skin does not become dry always but in cooler days, I feel to use body lotion after using it.

Overall, though it contains SLS (almost all the products in market contain SLS). It is a great shower gel for cleansing and scrubbing in this affordable price. Not to forget about the smell which makes it a SPA-like experience.

PROS of Palmolive Thermal Spa Skin Renewal Shower Gel:

  • Smells soothing and good.
  • Fairly large amount.
  • Affordable price.
  • Cleans skin.
  • Can be used as mild body scrub.
  • Granules are mild.
  • Makes skin soft.
  • Rinses off easily.
  • Does not leave slippery effect.
  • Good brand.

CONS of Palmolive Thermal Spa Skin Renewal Shower Gel:

  • Contains SLS.
  • Sometimes makes skin dry.

MABH Rating: 4.5/5

Do I Recommend?:

Yes, it’s good for summer days.

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes.
