Chamomile and Honey Skin Lightening Facial Serum – Do It Yourself

Hi Everyone!

Chamomile is one of the greatest natural skin lightening ingredients which has been used in the preparation of skin lightening cosmetics for ages. I love chamomile flowers so much for their alluring beauty, fragrance and of course the skin benefits. Not just for the lightening results, chamomile has also been used to cure acne, rashes and redness on skin. While there are many whitening products available in the market, a homemade facial serum would help you in a natural way to achieve that lighter, spot free skin with fewer weeks of usage.

  • 2 teaspoons of honey

How to Make?:

1. Take a sauce pan and fill it up with the distilled water. Bring it to a boil.

2. After the water boils, put in the crushed chamomile flowers and simmer the stove. Leave on for 5 minutes to let the water collect the chamomile extracts.

3. Now strain the chamomile extracts and also squeeze the flowers to get the extracts from them.

4. Add this fresh chamomile liquid extract to a small bowl and add honey, lemon juice to it. Blend well.

Your own homemade chamomile skin lightening facial serum is ready to use now! You can store this serum in refrigerator for 3-4 days but not more than that. The fresher the serum, the better it works.

  • Cleanse your face with lots of fresh water and a gentle facial cleanser or just swipe your facial skin with clean cotton pad dipped in cleansing milk.
  • With the use of your face pack brush or your clean finger tips, smooth this serum over your facial skin in upward direction. Make sure to cover the entire area of your facial skin without leaving any part.

Sweet Coffee Moisturizing Body Scrub – Do It Yourself

How about having a rich aromatic coffee body scrub done every weekend by yourself? Come let us discover how to prepare this yummy recipe with your kitchen ingredients. The wonder of this coffee scrub is that you don’t even need your moisturizer after scrubbing but still have a moisturized, baby soft skin. Interesting? Check the recipe below and have fun with moisturizing coffee scrub to have a beautiful soft skin!

Ingredients Needed:

  • A cup of coffee beans
  • A cup of sugar
  • A cup of creamy yogurt
  • 5-10 drops of olive oil
  • A scoop of milk cream (Optional)

Method?:

1. Fry the coffee beans in a plain heated pan (in low flame ofcourse) and powder them coarsely. Remember, the powder shouldn’t be very fine as it wouldn’t help much with scrubbing. Instead of preparing your own coffee powder, you can also get a ready made pack from the store but the reason I asked you to grind it yourself is, we only need a ‘coarse’ powder for this scrubbing purpose. Most of the coffee powders available in stores are fine and smooth so better spare some time to fry and grind the coffee beans at home itself.

2. Mix the sugar, yogurt and olive oil to the coarse coffee powder and blend well. If you have extremely dry skin then add a scoop of milk cream to this mixture.

3. All you will get now is a yummy smelling, coco-colored paste. If the mixture is extremely thick, then add a little more yogurt and make it a normal-thick coarse paste. Your yummy sweet coffee body scrub is all ready to use now!

How to Use?:

  • Dip a cotton pad in water and wet your body skin by wiping it with this wet cotton. This process helps with better scrub application.
  • Now take the coffee scrub bowl and apply the coffee scrub all over your body skin.
  • Start scrubbing your body skin gently. Be gentle on the sensitive skin areas and give some more pressure on the harder and rougher parts of the body such as knees, elbows and feet. This process helps removing the hard skin and dead cells from these parts.
  • After scrubbing for 10-15 minutes, close your eyes and relax. Let the aromatic moisturizing ingredients penetrate on your skin.
  • Later, wash your body skin with plenty of cold and clean water or take a shower.
  • Your luxurious coffee scrubbing process is finally done! All you see now is your refreshed, soft and silky smooth body skin. If followed every week, this body scrub will improve the skin complexion, removes uneven tone and removes sun tan naturally.

Note:  You can also add few drops of your favorite essential oil to this recipe for an extra aroma.

Homemade Bleach to Remove Sun Tan – Do It Yourself

Traveling, holiday, roaming around flea markets, walking through the road side streets; all these are great fun to do. And fun comes along with sun tan, dust, skin darkening, skin dulling and tanning too.

Now, I don’t need to say how does this effect skin. The most usual appearance of the skin while being tanned is skin gets darkened and looks more brown than usual. Time will definitely heal the dark skin. But it is our responsibility to do our share of helping to heal and sooth the skin.

Bleaching:

The common solution to lighten the skin color (due to sun burn or sun tan) is bleaching. I do not prefer using those products available in the beauty store that promises to lighten the skin. In turn it would definitely cause the skin to weep more. I have 2 very efficient bleaching face packs I always rely upon.

1. Tomato, Lemon & Butter Milk Tan Removal Face Pack

Take 2 spoon of tomato juice, half spoon of lemon juice and another 2 spoon of buttermilk. Mix them well and apply on skin. This mixture is very watery as there is nothing included to make it like a paste. Since it is then, the face pack dries pretty soon. Leave for about half and hour before shower.

All the ingredients are sour and are slightly acidic in nature. This will form a very good bleaching agent to reduce the dark pigmentation on the skin.

2. Milk Cream and Turmeric Face Pack to Remove Tan

Butter milk seems to be one of the wonder products available easily for us. I use it every now and then in my routine. This second recipe involves using of turmeric powder. It is another skin lightening agent that is very helpful. Since turmeric might cause a little warmth to the already damaged skin, I prefer adding some soothing agent. That is why milk cream is added too.

Mix the three well and apply finely on the skin. This bleaching pack is not very thin though because of the milk cream. And I do not get the feel of the pack getting dried too. So, leave it till you feel you had enough of it on you skin and then rinse off.

Scrubbing:

Scrubbing the tanned skin is equally important. But the lightest form of scrub has to be used since the skin is already in trouble. If scrubbed heavily, skin might feel as though it is ripped apart from your body.

Tomato Seed Facial Scrub – DIY

So, when the bleaching pack made from tomato is used, you get a scrub free with it. J. Keep aside the tomato seeds you get when you cut the tomato. Before shower, use these tomato seeds for scrubbing the skin. This will help in peeling the burnt skin slowly and rejuvenating.

Suji/Semolina as Soft Facial Scrub – DIY

Suji seems rough in its natural form. When used wet, it becomes a soft tiny ball. Thus, it forms a naturally soft scrubber for the skin. You don’t have to pour water into the suji bowl. Just wet your hands and take a spoon of suji in your wet hands; they automatically stick and loose their harshness. Rub it across the skin and rinse well.
