Tresemme Smooth and Shine Conditioner Review

Hello ladies,

Today I shall be reviewing the conditioner from the Tresemme range of the same variant as the Tresemme Smooth and Shine Shampoo that I had previously reviewed on MABH. It was all the hype about the brand that made me buy this conditioner even though I was pretty happy with the L’Oreal Conditioner reviewed previously by me. Read on to find out if this too was a dud for me like the shampoo was.

Price & Quantity:

Rs 64. The quantity is 100 ml.

Key Ingredients:

Sorry all, I am putting a picture here. It is a torture to my eyes to read and type it. They are really tiny.

My Take:

This conditioner too is in a white plastic bottle with pink print on it. Like I mentioned previously I am not a fan of its opening. This makes an even more mess as it is thicker than the shampoo. Check the picture to see for yourself!

The color is white as you can see from the swatch. The fragrance is very conditioner like. Nothing to like or dislike about. The texture too is like any other conditioner.

All the hype about the brand made me purchase products from this brand. The shampoo was a big fail with me but I must say that the conditioner was pretty alright. Even though it did not give me fantastic results, it did what any ordinary conditioner would do. It made the hair tangle free after shampoo and was soft to touch for ‘only’ a couple of hours after shampoo. However, the softness and smoothness does ‘not’ linger on and once again hair is a dry, rough, frizzy mess!!!! It does not live up to its claims. I am a disappointed customer as far as Tresemme brand is concerned and I am highly skeptical about its entire range of products.

Why I like this?:

  • Availability.
  • Not pricey.
  • Travel friendly.
  • Kinda does its job.

Why I don’t like?:

  • It does not live up to its claims.
  • Over hyped product!!
  • It does nothing for dry rough hair.
  • Messy packaging.
  • Not a happy customer.

Rating: 1/5

Do I Recommend?:

NO WAY!!!

Would I Repurchase?:

Nope! Never.

MUA Liquid Eyeliner Shade No.6 Dark Brown : Review, Swatches, EOTD

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to review a brown eyeliner from my current favorite makeup products. I purchased this liquid eyeliner online when I recently hauled from MUA. Read on to know more about the product!

Price:

£1.00

My Take:

This eyeliner comes in a neat plastic tube with a sleek applicator – very similar to Faces Ultimate Pro Eyeliner. (But this one has a flat structure) The applicator brush which it carries is a felt tip one and I find nothing messy about the packaging part while considering its price. The body of the tube reveals the color of the eyeliner.

Shade No.6 is described as a dark brown shade by the brand and well, it is true! It is one of beautiful brown eyeliners I have ever come across. If seen from a distance, it almost looks black and so it is wearable. If you are new to colored eyeliners, I highly recommend this shade to you. If you are a regular black eyeliner user and you feel you need a change – then try this. No.6 is a beautiful dark chocolate brown color (It’s few shades darken than Cadbury Dairy Milk) 😛

Swatches:

Soon After Application
After Getting Dried

After application, it takes 2-3 minutes to get dried off completely and leaves a semi glossy finish that looks natural. On me, this brown liquid eyeliner stayed for 5-6 hours without smudging and then fades evenly. The staying power is really great for the price! My mild face cleansers did not remove this properly and hence you will need at least a light eye makeup remover to remove this eyeliner.

EOTD:

I am wearing this eyeliner here with Elle 18 Kajal on my waterline. Excuse my messy eyebrow!

The applicator picks up right amount of the product and it is quite good. (Though not excellent in terms of ease of application). This shade ‘dark brown’ is well pigmented and gives that opaque finish with single swipe. If worn above an eye shadow or eye pigment, you will need 2 swipes to achieve the perfect color.

My only ‘dislike’ is the smell! This eyeliner smells extremely ‘chemical-like’. I did not like its fragrance even a bit. I prefer my eye products to be fragrance-free. Anyhow, from an eyeliner below 100 INR, there’s nothing to expect high. I have bought two other shades of MUA liquid eyeliners along with this one and I will be reviewing them soon.

Why I like?:

  • Super affordable price
  • Good packaging
  • Average quality applicator
  • No.6 is a beautiful dark chocolate brown shade!
  • Very wearable shade – photographs almost black
  • Pigmentation is good. The texture is smooth too
  • Staying power is awesome for the price!

Why I don’t like?:

  • Availability in India
  • Bad chemical-like smell! Grr..

Rating: 4.5/5

Final Verdict:

I highly recommend these eyeliners for their price and quality. You have to read reviews and check swatches online before buying one from their website – just to know about the pigmentation and quality because some shades are greatly pigmented whereas few other are duds! Anyhow, I love this dark brown shade very much and I will be repurchasing it once I finish this tube!

You know what? I found these two little neem tree embryos today morning when I took Tommy for a walk. I was afraid they might die due to heavy rain or speedy vehicles. So I took these two cuties home – planted them in paper coffee cups and named them Pinky and Ponky! 🙂 I am going to plant them soon in a pot and grow them till they achieve at least 15 cm in height. And then I have to plant them somewhere else safely! See how cute they look with tiny leaves!

P.S: I must thank Pinky and Ponky’s mother tree for being my skin’s best friend! 🙂

How to Stop Hair Fall Due to Dandruff? – MABH Reader Query

Abha Agarwal asks..
Hey Lancy,
Your blog is really nice and I find the tips really useful. My query is that I have a severe dandruff problem and till date I have used all kinds of products. I have also tried using methi, lemon and hibiscus flower for my problem. They don’t seem to work. I have a bad hair fall problem because of dandruff. Please suggest me home remedies and hair care products for dandruff.

Reply to the Query:

Hi Abha,

Dandruff can also be a cause of your hair fall problem but find whether it is the sole cause or not. Dandruff is the dead skin that sheds from your scalp; its quite common in human. If your dandruff problem is severe, it might be due to scalp dryness, improper maintenance or scalp infection. Hormone imbalance can also be the culprit. To stop hair fall due to dandruff, you should first stop dandruff. Follow the 3 essential steps below to reduce dandruff and keep hair fall in check.

1. Clean Scalp:

Rinse your hair at least twice a week. If you regularly exposure your hair to dust and sunlight, then 3 times will be required. Clean scalp is the enemy for dandruff. Use medicated shampoos or mild herbal ones. Avoid shampoos containing SLS, paraben and silicones. If you are not comfortable with shampoo (If in case they cause you allergies..), go all natural. You can use homemade shikakai hair wash powder to wash your hair. It rinses out dirt, oiliness and dandruff effectively. But if you have dry scalp, I suggest you to use this Shikakai Hair Wash Cream recipe instead of plain shikakai as it is little drying in nature.

2. Nourish with Oils:

Though dryness might not be the sole reason for your dandruff, it can also be one of the main causes. I don’t experience dandruff throughout the year but sometimes I experience mild itching and dandruff problem. And this happens only in monsoons. The cold air strips of the natural moisture of the scalp and encourages peeling of the scalp skin – which results in dandruff flakes. Hence, find time to oil your hair at least twice a week. Oiling hair is very important in order to reduce hair fall and grow long hair fast. Hot oil treatment will do best for your dandruff problem! Along with oiling, few homemade nourishing hair packs will also work good to nourish your scalp and prevent dryness.

3. Dandruff Curing Diet:

Dehydration, stress and sleeplessness might cause dandruff! So stay stress-free, sleep well and drink lots of water everyday. Drink at least 10 full glasses of water everyday. Believe me! You will start seeing changes in your skin and hair within a month. Fruit juices, vegetables salads and watermelon can be consumed to prevent dehydration.

I don’t know why methi, hibicus and lemon failed to help your dandruff problem. However, our writer Harini swears by her Homemade Anti Hair Fall Hair Pack made of curd, aloe vera and other ingredients to stop severe hair fall. I guess it will also help inreducing itchy dandruff. Don’t forget to check out the recipe.

If nothing above works, then you should definitely consult your dermatologist soon. Topical treatments work good but not all the time and not in all the cases. If your dandruff + hair fall problem is due to hormonal inbalance, changes in diet or something else, then your doctor is the best person to treat it. Take care!
