Vivel Purifying Face Wash For Pimple Control Review

Hello All!

I shall be reviewing  the ‘Vivel Purifying Face Wash for pimple control today. Although, by god’s grace I do not happen to have a very acne prone skin but in summers a few small zits always keep showing up as uninvited guests every now and then.

So,while roaming in a supermarket a few days back I found this face wash and decided to give it a shot! I am not very satisfied with the claims but still would recommend it as a routine face wash. Read on to know about my experience with the product and if it really helps counter acne.

Price and Quantity:

Rs 65 for a 50 ml pack

I guess a bigger pack is also available. However, for first timers, I would recommend to try the smaller one first

Shelf life:

1.5 years (approx)

My Take:

The product comes in a sturdy tube and has a flip top cap. As you can see the, pack is cute cream coloured tube with the cap being refreshing green in colour. I like it 🙂 I would call the tube quite travel friendly and not heavy at all.

The face wash is a clear, colorless product. The consistency is somewhat thick (thinner than honey but thick). A small amount is enough for the entire face. I guess, quantity equal to a 50 paisa coin (which is now, extinct :D) does the job well. This makes sure that your product would last for sufficient time. It is soap free but cleans well though.

The fragrance of this facewash is refreshing in summers. I cant describe it exactly! The fragrance does not retain with you. It goes off soon after you wash your face.

The product has tea tree extracts, which I have read have a lot of skin benefits. Probably, that was my motivation factor to buy this face wash. As per me, the claim for pimple control happens to be false. I still keep having pimples and it takes quite long for older ones to go away with this product. As a regular thing, it is fine.

It doesn’t dry out my skin. More than that, do not expect anything more than that from this one. If you are in hunt for something to actually help you out with pimples. Skip this one in my opinion. Try something else!

PROS:

  • Good for routine use
  • Affordable
  • Cute pack
  • Travel friendly
  • Pleasant smell
  • Soap free so doesn’t dry out your skin
  • Small amounts needed so tube lasts for a reasonable time.

CONS

  • Acne control not achieved 🙁

Do I Recommend?

As a remedy for acne.. No! Routine use.. Yes!

Would I Repurchase?:

No! For routine use I have better options available! This was expected to cure my acne blues but it failed to do the job.

Secret Temptation Deodorant Body Spray Mystery Review

Hey friends!

I keep collecting does since it feels nice to wear different fragrances everyday. My latest buy is Secret Temptation Mystery Deo on recommendation of a cousin and I can’t thank her enough for such a good suggestion 🙂

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 150 for 150 ml.

Shelf Life:

2 years

My Take:

This body spray comes in a fluorescent orange and dark magenta aluminum can. The colour seems very peppy to me!! I like it 🙂 It has a transparent detachable cap at the top. It is sleek and  travel friendly and can be carried around  in the purse. Also the cap is quite tight and it won’t come off on its own so no worries in that department It has a nozzle at the top which needs to be pressed to spray the deodorant.

The deo smells like fresh flowers (Something like jasmine though there is some other fragrance coupled with it that adds some spice to it)

It lasts with you for a good 4 hours. I put it in the morning and it lingers till the end of the day. At the most one re spray at the lunch hour would replenish the fragrance, it to it’s best.

I spray it on to the dress and avoid direct contact with skin as alcohol makes my skin all irritated 🙁

PROS:

  • Floral fragrance.
  • The fragrance stays for reasonable time
  • Pocket friendly
  • Travel friendly
  • Good packing
  • Same variant is available as a powder also. So,you can layer up the fragrance and it is sure to keep you smelling wonderful all day long.
  • Ozone friendly
  • No CFCs. Extra marks for this!!!

CONS:

  • Those with sensitive noses might not like it

MABH Rating: 5/5

Would I Repurchase?:

Definitely, though I also want to try the other variants 🙂

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! Please try. I have used many sprays and this one is pretty good..

P.S: I sometimes use it as my room and car freshener too 😛

Summer Pedicure at Home – 7 Easy Steps [Photo Tutorial]

Hello friends!

Our feet are exposed to the dirt and sun outdoors, all day long. They also happen to be the most neglected  part of our body. It’s important to give your feet the care they deserve when you’re at home and to pamper them. Here is a small article on how to give your feet a relaxing pedicure at home. Its based on my own experience! Hope you will love it.

Things You’ll Need:

  • A bucket/tub
  • Nail color
  • Nail trimmer
  • Nail file
  • Foot file/pumice stone
  • Cotton wool
  • Nail polish remover
  • Towels
  • Body lotion
  • Scrub
  • Essential oils/milk/butter milk(optional)
  • Cuticle cream or Vaseline petroleum jelly
  • Cuticle pushing stick

How to Do Summer Pedicure at Home?:

Step 1: Remove old nail polish with a good branded nail polish remover. Simply wipe it off with your nail polish remover and some cotton wool.

Step 2: Immerse your feet in a tub of warm water, to help soften your nails and skin. You can add shampoo or body wash to help get rid of dirt. Add baking soda as this accentuates the softening.

After soaking your feet in warm water for 5-10 minutes, drain out the water and fill the tub with fresh cold water. To this tub you can add the following:

  • Ice to calm down the skin in summer
  • You can a use Milk or buttermilk due to presence of lactic acid which works to soften feet and remove dead skin

Essential oils are optional, but here are some suggestions:

  • Peppermint oil for cooling effect
  • Lavender for aroma
  • Tea Tree oil for fungal infections

Adding some marbles (the once we used to play with as kids) to the base of bucket and rubbing your feet against them gives a nice massaging effect.

Step 3: Use the pumice stone or a foot file in gentle circular motion to get rid of the dry skin on your soles.

Step 4: For the front portion of your foot use a foot scrub or try any body scrub with good abrasive properties. Try using Aroma Magic’s mineral glow scrub or Everyuth Apricot scrub. Both work good.

Step 5: Pat your feet dry. Do not forget to dry between toes.

Step 6: Clip your toenails straight and file the edges. Always file in one direction only.

Step 7: Apply a cuticle cream to soften your cuticles (I use petroleum jelly or glycerin). Use a cuticle pushing stick to gently push your cuticles back.

Step 8: Moisturize your feet well. You can use any body lotion or foot cream for this. Do not apply in between toes.

Step 7: Apply the nail color of your choice 🙂

P.S: The frequency of these pedicure can be kept at every 2 weeks..

Additional points to take care of your feet in summers:

1. Wear cotton socks if possible. This serves a triple purpose of absorbing sweat, keeping feet clean as well as protecting them from sun tan.

2. Keep spaces between your toes dry to avoid infections.

3. Those of you who are prone to fungal infections, it is better to wear sandals or slippers as opposed to closed shoes.

4. If you are wearing shoes sprinkle some anti fungal powder between your toes.

5. Keep neem leaves in your shoes to keep them free from odour.
