VLCC Skin Defense Indian Berberry Face Scrub Review

by Adi

Hi girls! How are you all? Today’s review features a product from VLCC! Now, I’ve heard VLCC products don’t usually work, so let’s see if this scrub was any different!

Price and Quantity:

Rs 215 for 100 g or 3.52 oz

Shelf life:

3 years

Claims of the Scrub:

My Take on VLCC Skin Defense Indian Berberry Face Scrub:

The scrub is cream based so it’s quite thick – like a slightly thick paste. It feels a bit heavy when I start to apply it on my face.  The scrub particles are slightly sharp and can hurt if you rub too hard. It takes a while to wash off the scrub completely because of the thick consistency. It has a very fruity refreshing fragrance with a hint of banana.

Not only does it scrub off the dead skin, it is EXTREMELY moisturizing. Again, I guess this is because the scrub has a cream base. My skin felt hydrated – almost to the point of feeling greasy when I washed it off. Now that is a FIRST for my dry skin! My skin usually feels very stretchy and flaky after using a face wash so this is a huge plus point. The greasiness wore off after about half an hour but my skin still felt quite moisturized. I felt like I had used a heavy moisturizer on my skin! But this made me wonder how it works on oily skinned beauties.

When I use this at night before sleeping, I can notice the effects of the scrub even the next morning and for hours after. My skin looks radiant and clean the whole day 😀 I don’t know if you can notice in the photos, but my hand is looking a lot smoother after using the scrub on it. 🙂

What I like about this Scrub?:

  • Gently removes dead cells and exfoliates my skin
  • Moisturizes my skin
  • Did not break me out
  • Makes my skin glow
  • Contains natural ingredients (No parabens!)
  • Fruity fragrance

What I didn’t like about this Scrub?:

  • Priced slightly on the higher side
  • Scrub particles are a bit rough so may hurt sensitive skin if not used gently (I’m just nitpicking here!)

MABH Rating: 5/5

Final Word:

I love this scrub and it’s one of the best scrubs I have used till date. I have never used anything quite like it and I really appreciate the fact that, after I shelled out 215 bucks for it, it got me results. It does everything it claimed and makes my skin look rejuvenated and refreshed, without drying it out.

Do I recommend this Scrub?:

I think this is a great scrub for dry skinned girls and combination skin girls who tend to get dry skin when the weather becomes slightly cool. Although the scrub says it’s for all skin types, I would perhaps not recommend for oily skinned beauties. It might work for them but I feel this will probably make their skin greasy. Hope you all liked the review! 🙂

Which is your favorite ‘dry skin scrub’ till date? Any suggestions?

VLCC Soya Protein Conditioning Shampoo Review

by Mansi

I’ve always loved VLCC products and thus my expectations were high when I purchased VLCC Protein conditioning shampoo. I have frizzy and dry hair with oily scalp. Read more to know if it worked for me or not.

Claims of the Shampoo:

A mild formulation of Soya Protein and Almond gently cleanses your hair and provides nutrition of protein and vitamins. Soya Oil gets absorbed into the hair cuticles provides conditioning and anti-breakage benefits to the hair. Almond Oil enriched with vitamin E, gives deep nourishment to hair leaving them stronger and healthier from within.

Price:

Rs. 170 but I got for 165. 😀

Directions to Use:

Gently massage appropriate quantity of this shampoo into wet hair and scalp. Leave for 2 – 3 minutes and rinse thoroughly, repeat if necessary.

My Take on VLCC Soya Protein Conditioning Shampoo:

There are many variants in this range but I picked this one because ‘soya protein and almond oil’ attracted me. The packing of the product is in a flip cap plastic bottle similar to usual packagings. Nothing new about the packaging but it’s convenient and travel friendly.

The shampoo is white in color and the consistency is neither too thick nor runny making the usage easy. The shampoo lathers well and only little amount is required so the bottle will last long which is good at such a low price. When I first used this shampoo I was not impressed with the results as I didn’t saw any nourishment or conditioning effect (as the product claims to do so). But I thought of giving this shampoo another chance because some products take time to show results.

So, I used it again after 3 days and this time the results were BETTER, yes you read it right. I could feel the smoothness in my hair and I was happy with the results. When I used it next, I skipped my conditioner to see conditioning effects. And again the results were just amazing. Without conditioner also my hair was soft, nourished and were looking conditioned. I am using this shampoo from past 1 month and loving it more after each wash. And yes I’m loving my dry and frizzy hairs too.

I also didn’t experienced any breakage while using it and I think it does what it claims to do. I think VLCC is tryng hard and I’m loving their products more now. This is my HG product now and I’m going to purchase it again and again until I find something better.

PROS of VLCC Soya Protein Conditioning Shampoo:

  • Affordable
  • Travel friendly
  • Claims are true
  • Conditions hair
  • Leaves them soft and smooth
  • Makes hair manageable
  • Lathers well
  • No hair fall experienced

CONS of VLCC Soya Protein Conditioning Shampoo:

  • Nothing I guess!!

MABH Rating: 4/5

Will I Recommend?: Definitely yes! I’m sure you won’t get disappointed.

Will I Repurchase?:

Yes. Till I find something better which can handle my hair type. 😉
