Today I am going to review the Lavender Soap from Vaadi herbals. It claims to be a handmade soap with essential oils.

My Take:
Packaging: This Vaadi Herbals soap comes in a beautiful lavender colored outer carton. The soap is packed in double layered thin plastic sheets (may be to prevent smell fading off? Hmm no idea!). It is a bar shaped gel based soap which is soft lavender in color. More than anything else, I loved the very relaxing lavender fragrance of this soap. For the price, this kind of relaxing original lavender fragrance is a steal!
This soap lathers well and washes off quickly. It removes dirt and traces of sweat very well, leaving the skin squeaky clean and smooth. It doesn’t moisturize my skin but it doesn’t dry it out either. As this is summer, I don’t mind using this soap for daily bath. (Instead of my regular shower gel) After I bath or have a shower with this soap, my bathroom smells good with the lavender smell 😛
I am sure that this soap will relax your senses at the end of your stressed day; that’s why I always use it at nights before going to sleep. One soap bar comes 15-20 days for me. Make sure to store this soap in a cool, dry place to avoid excessive melting.
Overall, I am highly satisfied with this soap mainly for its fragrance and for the very affordable price of Rs.38. If you are a lover of lavender fragrances, do not miss this soap. It is a great buy from Vaadi herbals!

NEEV Herbal Handmade Soaps is the enterprise wing of NEEV. It is a small scale unit registered under Khadi Village Industries Commission, located in Hurlung village, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
NEEV also has a non-profit wing called NEEV Trust which works in the rural areas and slums around Jamshedpur in the domains of education, livelihood development and agriculture.
NEEV Trust facilitates 15 Self Help Groups (including one of Sabar Tribe) of women who are being trained in different skills through Skill Development Initiatives in partnership with NABARD. The groups have also been linked with the Gramin Bank.

My Experience with Neev Almond Rose Soap:
Packaging: It comes wrapped in a paper cover with the soap inside covered in plastic. The packaging is simple but I would suggest them to change it. The saying ‘Never judge a book by its cover’ doesn’t hold true always. If the packaging is attractive, I would pick it up even if I have never used it before.
Colour, Consistency & Fragrance: The soap is cream in colour with small pieces of almonds in it. These pieces are evenly distributed. The most attractive thing about the soap is the fragrance of it. It doesn’t smell artificial.
How it works: The soap feels minty even though it doesn’t have any mint in it. But I have no complaints against that. The tiny almond pieces act as a scrub. I don’t find them abrasive but then I don’t use soaps for my face. It lathers too!The BEST PART of this soap is the smell. Trust me when I say this, you will love it. I generally take quick showers (2 minutes) and even then, after I finish my bath, my bathroom smells like a spa! It remains that way till I come back home in the evening. In summers when I used it, I didn’t need a moisturizer. But now, it’s better to follow it up with one.
Before I forget, you might feel this soap melts faster than your bank account. True!
Wet your palms, rub soap between them and then apply it to your body. But then, this way you cannot use it as a scrub. So alternate between these 2 methods.

Expensive but not that much compared to handmade soaps from other brands.

Today, I will be reviewing the My Sweet Skin Soap from Soulflower. Before few days, I have shared the preview of 4 New Soulflower soaps with you all. This soap is one among them and it is specially formulated for normal skin types. I have a normal-oily facial skin and normal body skin; hence picked this soap immediately 🙂 (And also for the name My Sweet Skin!) I have been using this soap just for a week now but couldn’t wait to share my views with you all. Read my detailed review below!

My Experience with Soulflower My Sweet Skin Soap
Packaging: This soap comes in no fancy carton or something but it is packed in a clear transparent cover with the ingredient names and images printed over it. The packaging looks natural and gives that natural product feel 🙂
Colour, Consistency & Fragrance: This is a peach colored, plain rectangular bar shaped soap which is hard and huge. I have cut this soap into 2 pieces to prevent quick melting and also for easy handling. The texture of this soap is smooth and there are no granules present in the soap. The fragrance can be said bold, spicy and natural. I did not find any artificial hint in the fragrance however sensitive noses might not like it much. This is not a problem for me though as it doesn’t linger after bath.
How it works: This Soulflower My Sweet Skin soap just works perfectly on my normal skin. It lathers creamy and washes out in a second with a single splash of water. It doesn’t leave any slippery feel behind on my skin even though being smooth and creamy on application. My skin is left smooth and squeaky clean after using this soap. I don’t even want a loofah to exfoliate my skin as this one just cleared out all the impurities, dirt and sweat. The spiced bold fragrance prevented sweat for a long time and overall, I love this soap and would repurchase it ever for my normal skin. Even though being formulated for normal skin types, this soap did not leave my skin dry or greasy. My skin felt just smooth and clean! The only problem with this soap is that you should store in a dry place or else it will get creamy and melt soon. It claims to contain kesar for the improvement of skin texture but I cannot comment on that part much as I have just started using it. Anyhow, it made my skin texture smooth comparatively hence I guess this would improve my skin tone and texture well if used regularly. I don’t mind the price for the quantity and worth of this soap. If you have normal skin type and you love bold spicy, natural fragrances, grab this soap quickly! My skin really feels SWEET and clean after using it 🙂

Recommendation: Do you have a normal skin type? Do you want your bathing bars to be natural smelling and gentle on your skin? Do you want that squeaky clean effect with less water and time? Go ahead and pick this soap! It is my current holy grail bathing soap.
