MUA Lipstick Shade 6 Review and Swatches

Hi,

Today I am up with another lipstick from MUA in shade 6.  Basically I love this range of lipsticks from MUA as they are just right in quantity and quality compare to the price.

Price:

£1 approx. Rs.91 without shipping charge.

My Take:

This range of lipsticks come in a nice sturdy black case with the bottom showing the shade of the lipstick in the bullet thus help to find out your desired shade from your stash when you are in hurry. The bottom of the lipstick is actually detachable and it is a pot having the same shade of the lipstick that in the bullet. You can consider this pot as a little bonus of the quantity of the lipstick. The lipstick comes in 16 different shades so I guess there is at least one shade for everyone which is really nice.

Now coming to this particular lipstick.. As I told you that today I am reviewing shade 6 which is a nice shimmery pink that look almost neutral in my lips. The lipstick smells like near about cookie. I don’t know why I smell it like a cookie every time I apply it on my lips 😛 The staying power is only 1-2 hours without having meals which I think is enough for a 1 pound lipstick obviously.

The lipstick is definitely not transfer resistant, in fact it hardly survive meals. It tends to bleed in summer of India. And sometimes I found the lipstick itself melt in the bullet to some extent in summer so I have to keep it in fridge. The lipstick is creamy in texture thus non-drying and moisturizes your lips. Need 2-3 swipes to get an opaque coverage but this particular may not suit in pigmented lips as it tends to bleed always so after sometime it start fading out leaving no tints behind.

Why I like this?:

  • Affordable price.
  • Nice, sleek packaging with see through bottom that help you to find the lipstick shade easily.
  • Creamy in texture so non-drying.
  • Glides easily on lips.
  • Smells like cookie 😀

Why I don’t like?:

  • Not available in India.
  • Buying from direct website is risk as it don’t deliver to some city of India I think as In Kolkata MUA never reached 🙁
  • This shade will not be that suitable for Indian skin tones
  • Tends to bleed in summer.
  • Not transfer resistant.
  • Staying power is low
  • This particular may fail to cover pigmented lips.

My Final thoughts:

Despite of all cons I will say that this lipstick is so affordable and comes in so many lovely shades that you can have at least one in your stash!

MUA Lipstick Shade 16 Nectar : Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hello everyone!

Previously I reviewed the MUA Lipstick in 13 which is a hot red shade. Today, the review is about MUA Lipstick in shade 16 which has a name luckily, called ‘nectar’. I am expecting MUA to name all their shades; the plain numbers are pretty boring. Aren’t they? Fine let’s move on to the review now.

Price and Quantity:

£1 for 3.8 g (Around 78 INR)

My Take:

This one pound lipstick comes in a neat plastic bullet which is black in color. There’s a mini pot attached to its bottom to identify the shade easily and what’s more.. The pot contains tiny amount of the same lipstick! The packaging is sturdy, easy to use and mess free.

Nectar is a beautiful bright coral shade with orange undertones. It reminds me of L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Pink Passion Lipstick in terms to texture and creaminess but nectar leans more towards orange than pink. There are no messy shimmers or glitters. The finish is very creamy, averagely pigmented and moisturizing. It took 1-2 swipes to cover my pigmented lips fully.

At first, it gave a slight neon-y finish but then, it settled to a beautiful coral in few minutes after application. The shade is very summery and it is suitable for all skin tones. Some bloggers have mentioned that this shade will be not suitable for ‘dusky skin tones’ but on my dark skin, it shows good. (I think so!) After all, its all about carrying the shade confidentially. If you are darker than me, then it might wash out if not worn the proper way. I need a good makeup base to carry this bright coral. Sometimes it shows up slightly pink on my lips after 2-3 hours and I am wondering why.

I fell in absolute love with this lipstick. Shade 13 from MUA didn’t suit me that much as its a bright red – and it also adds age to my look. But this perky coral is very suitable for day looks and night looks; you can wear it when you are planning to go out with friends. I sometimes use this lipstick as my cream blush too and it brings out a lovely glow on my face.

The staying power ranges between 2-4 hours without food. It once stayed on me more than 5 hours too and it survived my horlicks 😛 For a one pound lipstick, the quality and staying power are amazing. Due to the creamy texture, it might melt in summers. I guess I will finish this bullet very soon! (Credit goes to the creaminess)

Why I like?:

  • Affordable price
  • Super creamy, non drying texture
  • Good pigmentation
  • Wearable bright coral shade
  • Staying power is really good for the price
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Bonus little pot attatched at the bottom
  • This shade will suit all skin types
  • Can also be used as a soft coral blush

Why I don’t like?:

  • However I exfoliate and prep my lips, it sometimes settle into fine lines
  • Melts off easily in summers
  • Have a mini brunch and its all gone!

Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color Hot Look Review, Photos and Swatches

Hello ladies! Red or different shades of red lipsticks look very attractive and stylish; I am a freak about bright color lipsticks from fuchsia to magenta, red comes in between them though. Red is one color that can go with any dress and of any color. I already have many shades of fuchsia and magenta and red, so I wanted to try some different shades of red.

Last month while planning shopping online, I bought three different shades of red lipstick from Coloressence and I am going to review three of them one by one. Today, I will be reviewing one in the shade Hot Look.

Price and quantity:

Rs. 150 for 4 g.

My Take:

The lipstick comes in a very chic and stylish bullet with black and silver packaging. The cover is very tight; I don’t like lipsticks with loose cover, day by day they become so loose that they keep falling now and then. So, one point goes to this lipstick. The smell is pretty nice, reminds me some of the lipsticks from my childhood.

The bullet is stiff and a bit dry. Dryness makes it difficult to apply on the lips. The color is the most appealing and eye-catching color, not exactly siren red or blood red. Apart from the color, the other thing I like about this lipstick is it is matte finish. I love matte lips so much that sometimes, I blot the moisture of the lipstick after applying my favorite lipsticks.

Though the brand claims that this is moisture lip color and keeps the lips moisture and nourished, I did not find any of these things in my lipstick. Actually, my lipstick was completely opposite to its description, dry and matte (though nourishing would have been good for lips but yet it does not bother me at all).

Now, the staying power is quite good, for 4-5 hours. It survives my eating sessions and that’s another win. Trust me, I always forgot that I am wearing makeup and do blunders like, rubbing my eyes, or wiping sweat off my face ferociously. So, this lipstick is quite a strong one on the lips.

This lipstick is very proper for night and evening outings but if wore with the right attire and makeup, it will look stunning in day outings also. Overall, I love this lipstick for being it matte and the shade is very lovely too.

Why I like?:

  • Highly pigmented.
  • Gives a matte look.
  • Stays for decent period of time.
  • Good brand.
  • Fair price.
  • Very chic packaging.
  • Shade is universally loved.
  • Does not fade easily.
  • Survives eating session.

Why I don’t like?:

  • Bullet is bit dry.
  • No moisture, no nourishing effect.

Rating: 4.9/5

Do I Recommend?:

Yes, if you like matte lipsticks.

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes, absolutely.
