Vivel Active Essentials Kokum Butter Lip Care Review

Hello All!

Today, I am going to review the Vivel Lip Care. I came to know about this lip balm only when I went for shopping last month. Before that, I don’t even that a product like thisย exists. As the claims were impressive, I immediately picked it up.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 30 for 10g

My Take:

Packaging: This Vivel Lip care comes in a small tube with a slanted tip applicator and a screw cap. Do you remember those Vaseline, Himalaya Herbals Lip Balms with similar Rs.20-30 price tag? The packaging is exactly same as them with same type of applicator. Ditto!

However, the product is use to use, travel friendly and mess free unlike the tub lip balms.

Color, Texture and Fragrance: This is a transparent lip balm without any color. It has a not-so-thick consistency. (May be the Chennai summers have melted it??) I would have liked the lip care more if it has a bit thicker consistency. Nevertheless, the texture is very smooth, soft and creamy.

Now I want to compare the fragrance of this lip care with some candy! Yup.. It exactly smells like the Alpenliebe candy or lolly pop ๐Ÿ˜€ (at least for my senses!) At first, I was very impressed of the fragrance but then in 2-3 days of usage, I got very bored of it. It smells like a candy and not a lip balm. I love sweet smelling products but its a tad on the ‘artificial’ and also ‘strong’ side so I did not like it much. If they tone down the fragrance and make it mild, I will REALLY love it.

How it Works for Me?: Soon after I apply this lip balm to my lips, I get an ‘oily feeling’. I should accept here that it instantly moisturizes my lips and relieves dryness but I feel like I have applied some oil over my lips. The finish is transparent, glossy and shiny – I loved it! The over sweet fragrance too fades off within ten seconds of application but I wanted it to be a bit thick on my lips than being oily.

While talking about the 24 hours moisturisation claim of the company, NO! it is false. But we cannot expect it from a 30 bucks lip balm though ๐Ÿ˜› It helps my lips stay moisturized for 1-2 hours in summer and hence I am sure I will not use it in winters.

For now, I use it over my matte lipsticks to soften them and add that glossiness. And if I feel lazy to open the tub of my HG lip care product, of course the Himalaya Lip Butter, I get this on my hand and smooth it over my lips and voila, I am done with the instant lip moisturizer! ๐Ÿ™‚ but the sad part is it doesn’t last long.

However, if you can bear extremely sweet (a kinda artificial) candy-like fragrance, grab this lip care for sure! At least for the price and its instant moisturizing properties. Other than the fragrance part, it is a very very nice product for the price, believe me!

PROS:

  • Easy to use, travel friendly tube
  • Sweet fragrance (But wait.. this might be a con for some)
  • Soft texture and thin consistency
  • Not sticky or heavy on lips
  • Not waxy or patchy
  • Instantly moisturizes lips
  • Adds that glossiness and shine to the lips
  • Perfect to top over your matte lipsticks to turn them glossy in a minute
  • Did you check the price tag? It is just 30 INR!
  • Perfect for summers!.. Not for dry lips though

CONS:

  • That oily feeling on lips :/
  • The 24 hour moisturizing claim shouldn’t be done by the company! Seriously!
  • Fades away with a single drink, or snack
  • The over sweet, candy-like fragrance again! It feels a bit artificial for me
  • I don’t believe the UV protection claim as the staying power itself is very less!

Rating: 3.5/5

Do I Recommend?ย

Yup! I recommend it for the price tag, the instant moisturizing property and easy to use packaging. Give a try dude ๐Ÿ˜‰ You are not going to miss much by spending 30 bucks. However, if you do not like the fragrance, use it on your nails, I bet it will add super shine to them.

Would I Repurchase?:

Not sure! I do not like the fragrance.

LipIce Sheer Color Strawberry Lip Conditioner Review

By Arpita

Hi everyone!

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. Today I will be reviewing a gorgeous color changing product! Read on to know what it does.

Price and Quantity:ย

Rs. Rs. 190 for 2g

My Take:

The price is not high and the packaging is average and the product is travel friendly. YouTube Guru- Michelle Phan always says that we should never judge a lipstick (or lip balm) by its bullet! That is so true for this one. The bullet is colorless but when applied it gives such a healthy pink color to the lips.

I have bought over three of these now and I love them! The texture is so creamy, soft, the lip balm (I do not know what to call it) glides on so easily on the lips and within 1-2 minutes, it changes completely from colorless to a sheer pink color. I hope you liked the lip swatch ๐Ÿ˜€

I am sure you can see that it makes my lips appear so hot and slightly glossy. It makes my lips appear very natural and pink too! After getting so many comments from you guys that my lips swatches are awesome, I am getting a bit more conscious about them lol ๐Ÿ˜›

The fragrance is perfect and the color lasts for about 1-2 hours after which it fades away, leaving behind a soft pink tint. However it cannot survive meals and reapplication is required every couple of hours, which I definitely do not mind as these are very soft and creamy and even after 3-4 swipes I do not get bored. I simply love this one and will keep on repurchasing LipIce ๐Ÿ™‚

PROS:

  • Packaging
  • Gives a healthy pink color to the lips
  • Fragrance is yummy
  • Affordable
  • Gives a glossy look to the lips which is super hot
  • Lasting Power is of about 1-2 hours max which is completely okay for me
  • Leaves behind a very natural pink tint after it fades away
  • Moisturizes nicely too

CONS:

  • Does not cover pigmentation (but it has been mentioned on the pack that it provides sheer color so this should not be considered as a con)

Final verdict:ย

What else do you expect from this at this price? I love these lip conditioners a lot and I am sure you must have tried it. If you have not tried it yet, then go and get this one without any second thoughts.

Himalaya Herbals Natural Sun Protection Lip Balm Review

by Arpita

I love purchasing and using lip balms. I have recently bought a few lip balms out of which this is the worst. Read on to find why! ๐Ÿ˜›

Price:ย

Rs. 99 for 4.5 g

My Experience:

Packaging: It comes in the trademark Himalaya packaging. It has a retractable packaging, which is convenient. Somehow, I find the packaging boring and cheap looking. The bullet is a delicate baby and will break if you apply too much of pressure.

Fragrance: This has the weirdest fragrance I have ever sensed. I mean the fragrance bothers me so much. It stays on and on. I hate…Hate…HATE the fragrance. It is like Grease- Pure grease. Yucks!! I do not even want to write about the fragrance

Texture and Moisturizing power: It may seem a bit dry initially but after a few swipes, you will see that it has a smooth creamy texture but it feels waxy on the lips, which I hate. However, for dry lips, I think this lip balm will help. It has a good staying power of about 2-3 hours and it nicely moisturizes the lips.

PROS:

  • Nicely moisturizes the lips
  • Staying Power of about 2-3 hours
  • Price
  • Travel friendly

CONS:

  • Boring and cheap looking packaging
  • Fragrance (I have never sensed such a fragrance in any other lip balm ever!)
  • Waxy feeling
  • Very fragile bullet
  • Fragrance Lingers on
  • Transfers easily onto cups and all

Final Verdict: I do not recommend it at all and I will not repurchase this even if all the lip balms of this world are magically vanished! You will not be able to bear with the greasy fragrance it has. Just go to a shop where grease and all is found, ask them if they have pure grease and then run away from there after taking a sniff at it. Yes, that is what this lip balm smells like.

Rating: 1/5 [ giving 1 just for the staying power]

Honestly, I did not feel like writing this review but just wrote it to warn all of you about this BAD product. Hope I helped in saving your 99 bucks! Take care girls!

Good Luck Everyone!

Editor’s Note: I find the Himalaya Herbals Natural Intensive Lip Balm better than this in terms of cost and effectiveness. It has a not-so-good smell too but it works better. What say?
