Hey girls! Today, I am reviewing an eyeshadow duo (2 shades) from the new Silk Luxury Makeup Range of Faces Canada Cosmetics which I received few days back (Photos and Preview HERE). Eyeshadow? I am not that expert in using shades, just a beginner to be frank. Still, I will give my best for this review now. This eyeshadow duo is one among the products in the Silk Range set, and I am reviewing this first for my sweet readers who asked me to do so. . The Packaging
Oh god! The packaging is so cute, glossy and sturdy! Classy too. The eyeshadow duo comes in a small rectangular shaped glossy case with a wide mirror and a pretty eyeshadow brush inside it. Short and sweetly, it is very beautiful, compact and travel friendly. Nothing bad I could find in it.

Colour and Texture
The duo I got had 2 shades. One is amber and the other one pinkish rose, not so overpowering, it’s really mild and lovely. The amber shade has bronze glitters and the rose one has light pink glitters on them, To say about the texture, it is so smooth, glides so easily onto the delicate skin without any clump and yes! It’s pretty smooth, rich and silky as per the name. Both shades had glittery shimmer effect which I loved the most. No complaints about the colour & texture factor too! I can’t even find one.

How it Works
I am going to finish this part short and sweet, you will know more wonderful things about this eyeshadow seeing my EOTD. The shades are so lovely as they would suit most of the skin colours. Dark, pale, dusky whatever you are! These shadows just gives a flattering effect when worn as single or both mixed together. I prefer using single shade sometimes matching my outfit, thick double duo combination for parties and a very mild duo combination for shopping, hang outs etc. The dull rose near lash line and the amber on the brow line looks really beautiful, however you can do whatever mixing with these duos to make your eyes beautiful. I am just an eyeshadow beginner, yet I feel this one more easy and comfortable for application and getting the effect I desire. The best thing about this duo next to the shade is the staying power. It stays for 5 hours without fading without a primer and 8+ hours you can expect with your primer. The shadow doesn’t crease, clump or fade unevenly. Hoo hoo short and sweet? I did this part more long 😛 because I love the duo so much! Seeing the quantity and the quality, it’s inexpensive I would say. Overall, its a good duo with a great staying power, lovely shades, shimmer effect, smooth texture and a good shelf life of 3 years. A single pan will last longer really. Give a try for sure! There are some other shades from on this Duo case. The new Silk Range Duo rocks as per the claims!

That’s it 🙂 Please don’t raise your eyebrows if I haven’t applied the shades properly as I am just a beginner)
PROS
  1. Lovely shades, perfect for formal, casual and party wears. The trick is how you use them!
  2. The glittery particles gives a rich effect and highlights eyes and brow bone line.
  3. The staying power is really fantastic! Stays up to 8 hours without smudging or creasing with a primer. 5+ hours without a primer which is a very good staying time. 
  4. The duo shades doesn’t smudge and scatter all over face which most of the shadows do so. This will avoid shimmers showing here and there on your face.
  5. Even though it stays so long, gets removed with a single swipe with your cleansing milk.
  6. I guess it is water proof because stays on my eyes with heavy sweat too.
  7. These duo shades suits with most of the other shades, you can mix it for different effects.
  8. For the quality and quantity, price cannot be an issue. It is quite affordable.
  9. Doesn’t fades unevenly. It is not going to fade at all for the whole day actually 😀
  10. The packaging is glossy, cute, compact and travel friendly.
  11. A wide mirror inside which is so useful in applying the shades.
  12. The double side eyeshadow brush avoids mixing of shades. The brush is black and pretty too!
  13. Fragrance is very mild, you cannot find any artificial flavour in it.
  14. A good shelf life, so you can use for years.
  15. I have many more list of PROS for this product.. He he Just loving it to core!
CONS

Consss??? What cons?? Nothing like that.

My Recommendation: Sure, I highly recommend it!! A must buy product from the new Silk range of Faces Canada.

Lakme Instaliner Water Resistent Eyeliner Review

Today I am here up with a  review of Eyeliner from Lakme. This was my second used eyeliner, first one being dazzler. The main reason why I purchased is it’s water resistant claim and an affordable prize. Being a student I cannot of afford on costly liners. I didn’t even know the difference between water resistant and water proof before using this instaliner. Let me write my experience with this eye liner, my ratings and recommendation in this post. What does the Product Claims

My View About this Product with Ratings
The Packaging
The product comes in a transparent glass bottle with a sturdy screw type lid. The lid is not too long or short and hence the application is in control every time. If you are a person who looks for cute packaging, this won’t be your choice because the packaging is very simple, but yet it is very well packed as the brush is in our control when we line our eyes.
   The control of lining is good but the bristle comes in this product is little confusing. When I got the first bottle, the bristle was very fine, neither too thin nor thick but the second bottle’s application bristle was worst. So, It is needed to check the applicator before buying this eyeliner. And the other con about the packaging is, no ingredient list mentioned on the bottle. Leave the ingredient list, where’s the price? It is not listed on the bottle at all, so there are lots of chances of being cheated by the shopkeeper 😛
Rating: 3.5/5 (-1 for bristle issues in some packs and another -0.5 for no price on the pack)

Colour, Consistency and Texture
The colour of the liner is dark black, perfect for everyday use but still we expect need more shades from you Lakme 🙂 To say about the consistency, it is neither too thick nor too thin but I doubt that with regular usage the consistency thickens. The texture of the liner is very smooth and glossy but it gives a matte after it gets dried. If you are looking out for a great matte effect, then this would be a perfect choice. Glossy lovers may not like it much.

My Experience with this Eyeliner

This is one of my favorite “daily wear” eyeliner and has my own likes and dislikes about it. The main dislike about this eyeliner is that it takes too long to dry. I have to sit under fan for more than 5 minutes to dry it completely if I lined thick. If it is a thin line on your eyes, it takes 2 to 3 minutes to dry. So no quick drying, this may lead in smudging if not patient. I am not a patient girl hence this becomes a big headache for me about this product 🙁
When applied looks very glossy on my eyes but after drying completely this shows a perfect matte effect. Even though I loved the shade, I wanted it to be more black to beautify eyes perfectly. Lakme gives a huge quantity for this product, hence it takes months to get finished off. It may even take a year. 
 When I splash water on my face the eyeliner doesn’t comes off or smudges but if rubbed, it smudges a lot and gives and horrible look. So, if you cry, sweat or get wet in rain you should allow the liner to dry before disturbing your eyes. Other than this, this is good for everyday use, especially for all the beginners. It stays all day long and does not peel off or cracks. The bristle and texture is to be improved in this product and price should be mentioned on the package.
Rating: 4/5 ( -1 for the drying time, it takes so long)
PROS
  1. Huge quantity for this affordable price, hence lasts really longer.
  2. The application is in great control and the packaging is good.
  3. I didn’t cause any side effects or itching. 
  4. The liner doesn’t peel off or cracks. Stays on eyes all day long if not rubbed with water.
  5. Water resistant, hence it may suit even if you sweat (but shouldn’t rub)
  6. Beginners can use this as a perfect daily eyeliner.

CONS
  1. No ingredient list is mentioned on the pack. This makes sensitive eyes hesitate to buy it. 
  2. Even the price is not mentioned. It’s a great con because new customers may get cheated by the sellers.
  3. The liner takes long time for drying hence may not satisfy people who look for “quick and easy dry”
  4. The black should be more dark and news shades to be launched. There’s only one shade  (black) now.
  5. It is just water resistant, not water proof. This wont be a con for this price and quantity. So use wisely and you will like it 🙂
  6. In some packs, the application bristles are worst (Others are so good, so check before buying)
Overall Rating: 3.5/5 (-1 for No quick drying, -1 for Ingredients and Price not mentioned, -5 for error in some pack bristles)
My Recommendation: Perfect for everyday use! Good quantity for this much lower price so please take a try! Would suit for beginners well.
Will I repurchase?: Sure! Repurchase of this product is needed only once in a year as it lasts that much longer, when who wont? It’s an economical and good buy overall.

Liquid Eyeliner – Tips and Tricks

I always use an eyeliner to highlight my eyes! It’s my best and favorite cosmetic ever. I never go heavy makeup but I would love to beautify my eyes every time with a liner. My all time makeup routine is a face wash, eyeliner and a lip gloss. That’s it. I don’t even use compact powders or foundations on my skin, but I can never live without eyeliners!! Many of the girls would also love eyeliners and it’s their favorite too. In this post you can find out few interesting tips and tricks about applying a liquid eyeliner! Go head! Keep rocking.. LIQUID EYELINER (TIPS AND TRICKS)

1. Always check your eyeliner brushes to be thin. Thick brushes might make the liquid eyeliner coat over your eyes thicker and it might look artificial.

2. Never ever apply mascara before applying your liner, It surely makes your eyes look bad. After applying the eyeliner in a right way, wait until it completely dries. Then use your mascara to thicken your eyelashes.

3. Don’t mistakenly apply eyeliner before using eyeshadow. It may make your eye makeup worse. So remember, Eyeshadow first, Eyeliner second and Mascara at last! 🙂 🙂 It makes a perfect eye makeup.

4. Make sure your eyeliner is a good branded one, and you apply it almost nearer to your lashes to avoid an artificial look. A thin stroke is enough to highlight your eyes 🙂 You can extend the application to the tip if you want to give a good shape to your eyes, but be careful not too much!
