Eye Makeup to Wear With Blue Outfit ~ Photo Tutorial

Hello everyone!
Blue is one beautiful color for an outfit to wear anytime of the year. Isn’t it? A bright blue dress with some amazing makeup on your face will perk up your appearance. Agree? So today, I am going to share with you all the eye makeup I done to match my blue outfit. Be it navy blue, a royal blue or light blue.. this eye makeup will suit any kind of your blue dress beautifully!

Tips for Wearing Eye Makeup with Blue Dress:

Before starting the tutorial, I would like to share some tips while doing eye makeup to pair with your blue dress/costume.

1. Never go for ‘all blue’. It will make you look very tacky. If you wear a blue colored dress, use can use a blue eyeliner and a bit of blue shade. But don’t use only the blue ‘eyeshadow’. Make your eye makeup look a bit more warm using neutral and brown shades.

2. From my experience, black eyeliners stay for a long time than colored ones. I doesn’t mean you shouldn’t add colors to your makeup! But it just means, give a black lining before putting on the colored liner on top of it. This way, the shade shows up really well and moreover, it stays longer. Keep in mind, wearing a black eyeliner with sheer or light toned eyeliners will do no good. If you wear blue, wear black first. It shows up really well and this tutorial is a proof.

3. Unless you are going to play a show in circus, don’t use bright neon or orange eyeshadows with blue color dress! It might make you look all made up. If your blue saree or lehenga has orange in it, no wrong you can add some orange in your look (in a subtle way though) but if in case you are wearing casuals, avoid hard-to-carry shades with blue.

Products Used:

  • MUA Eye shadow Palette Poptastic
  • MUA Waterproof Black Eyeliner
  • L’Oreal Color Riche Quad
  • MUA Black Mascara
  • L’Oreal Color Riche Le Khol Portofino Blue

How to Wear Eye Makeup for Blue Dress?:

1. Cleanse and prime your eyelids. Apply an eye concealer and set it with some loose powder. Give a wash of your favorite neutral shade. If it is going to be a festive look, golden eyeshadow will work too. Neutrals work best with any outfit and that is the reason why I love neutral eyeshadow very much.

2. Using an angular brush, apply some chocolate brown eyeshadow on your crease line. Listen, only a bit you should apply- not to the level that you do for a brown smokey eye look. Blend it well.

3. Now apply some blue eyeshadow (either dark or light) from the outer corner of your eye to the middle of your crease line. Blend it well with an eyeshadow brush.

4. Put on your black eyeliner now. Make sure the line is neither too thin nor too thick. Allow the black eyeliner to dry.

5. Wear kajal on your waterline evenly.

6. Make sure you have blended all the shades properly. In this eye makeup look, neutral and blue dominates. You can just find a hint of brown.

7. Coat your eyelashes with mascara after curling it.

8. Use a soft cotton bud to remove the excess shades from sides. Wear a highlighter on your brow bone area if preferred.

That’s it! You are done with your blue eye makeup! Have a closer look of the makeup below.

This is one more eye makeup to pair up with blue outfits! I made it wear simple with a wash of pink eyeshadow and liquid blue eyeliner. Need a tutorial?

Simple and Easy Intense Black Smokey Eye Makeup

I love Smokey eyes. That is a fact which you guys already know right. Here is my all time favorite intense smokey eye look in black. This is like let’s say the mother of smokey eyes. My mom used to tell how in childhood she used to just apply kajal on eye lids, smudge it and powder it for simple smokey eyes. This is a look best suited on fair, medium fair, to medium dark tones. Of course any one can try this look. This look is completely black with few other tones mixed. I tried to create 2 different looks here as well.

Products used:

  • Lakme perfecting foundation
  • Lakme radiance compact
  • My home made kajal
  • A brown eye liquid liner used as a mascara
  • A eye pencil in black
  • Eye shadows from my favorite BR eye shadow palette.

Steps:

1. Prime and prep your eyes. Fill in your brows with a grey pencil or eye brow powder. You can use brown too. Choose depending on your eye colour. I used grey here.

2. Using a pencil fill your 3/4th of the lid with black eye shadow or pencil. Blend well. Extend towards the outer v. If you wish you can make a wing like mine here or leave it.

3. Fill the next 1/4th with eye shadow No 1 in the picture. It is so soft grey. This will help in perfect blend and hooded eyes will look great with this trick than complete black.

4. Fill the tear duct are with eye shadow 2. It is a nude brown and will help blend the look into your skin so that it won’t look sharp.

5. Now using shadow No 3 blend your black eye shadow in the crease. Using the same eye pencil line your lower lash line. Blend with eye shadow 3.

I applied brown mascara here to pop my eyes out. Otherwise you can use your favourite mascara. Use any other coloured mascara to give slight tint and edge to this look. Blue works great actually. Fill in your water line with kajal.

Tada.. simple and easy!

Extras: You can use any colour other than the brown I used in the crease to give the corresponding tint. Like if you are wearing a blue dress and want this look, try blending with sapphire or navy blue in the crease, lower lash line and use a light blue in the tear duct area. The second look is lavender based one. You can use purple as well. I personally prefer green actually! 🙂

My Coral Festival Eye Makeup Look – Photo Tutorial

by Dharu

Thank you Arshita and Lancy for asking a festive coral makeup look.  This is one of the best suited looks on my skin tone after that dark hot pink smokey eye one. It makes me look innocent and like a princess if I wear with a cream dress. I made it festive and completely coral. You can also add golden, copper tones if you wish. Like the previous one, I have two looks here with same procedure and of course.. Here are the steps. Enjoy ladies!

Products Used:

  • Lakme Perfecting foundation
  • Revlon Compact
  • BR Eye shadow Palette in 2 collections. If you get your hands on these.. Don’t ever miss out on them. (Superb pigmentation and colours. Some are just superb mattes at the same time extremely blended.)
  • Dazzler Mascara
  • Elle 18 Black Eyeliner
  • ADS 2 in 1 Eye Pencil in Green and Black. (These are dead cheap and really good)
  • Vov Eye Crayon in Gold

Coral Festival Eye Makeup Look ~ Steps:

Step 1: Apply primer and prepare your eyes. Fill in your eyebrows with a dark brown pencil or eye shadow (matte). It compliments this look.

Step 2: Apply shade No 1 in the inner corner of the eye lid. I used a bit orange tones here as coral is basically pink toned orange. Use a shimmery eye shadow for festive and matte for daily wear look. But here the eye shadow looks both daily wearable and festive. The palette is just amazing.

Step 3: Add shade No 2 in the next 1/3 part of the lid. Blend them together. Wipe out any fall outs using a clean fluffy brush. Now this look is entirely orange. Keep adding till you get the desired amount of colour. Coral is quite difficult to show up and darker skin tones need a lot of work here.

Step 4: Using an angular brush, apply shade No 3 in the outer corner. You can make it winged or soft blend like I did here. Blend all together. Make sure not to apply to much as that maroon can dominate the orange. Here you get the complete coral look. Stop here if you want to keep it light and coral. I used shade 4 to blend. It is orangish gold so it helped me keep the look coral.

Step 5: Add shade five in the crease. It metallic grey. Add more if you want the look to be edgy. I didn’t use much. Only to give depth in the crease. I liked this better than brown or black. Here ends the first look.

Step 6: Take a black pencil; fill the outer half of the lower lash line. Fill the other with a soft golden eye pencil. Also use the same to apply in the tear duct area. It gives the desired festive touch. You can use copper to keep it more coral in look

Step 7: For the second look, simply add a dark brown or black brown eye shadow in the outer V. Blend well. Tada.. you are done!

Step 8: Make a winged line on the upper lash line using your favorite eye liner. Add mascara. I kept my water line bare. But if you wish you can add kajal. I like it this way. It makes me look innocent and beautiful. Try these palettes girls. I have one word for them – beautiful. They are the best of the lot I own till date and no fall out.

Hope you find this helpful Arshita! 🙂
