Elle 18 Color Burst Lipstick Roasty Red Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hey people!

I am new in here in this beauty home. Welcome me with your lovely smiles and I’ll be really happy 🙂
Well, I am here to review a lipstick that can fit into anybody’s pocket. It’s a lipstick from Elle 18 color burst range named Roasty Red.

Price:

4.3 ml for Rs.100 (yeah, I’m not kidding :D)

My Take:

This is my first ever Elle 18 lipstick. I always heard mixed reviews about them. I personally felt few of these lipsticks lack pigmentation and few seemed to be too frosty to suit the Indian skin tone.  But I understand that these lipsticks are being targeted on the teenage girls who like to experiment and love to wear different colors. Anyway, I chose this particular shade because I’m in the “search of my perfect red” phase. This lipstick when I tried in the store, I felt it suited me so grabbed one.

Packaging: This Elle 18 lipstick comes in a black bullet case. It isn’t that thick or sturdy. The cap seems to break easily. The cap has a girl image which is a standard on this range.

Shade: The shade roasty red is a burnt brick red which falls in between red and maroon.

The lipstick lacks a proper texture. It lacks pigmentation (you need to swipe in twice or thrice to get the colour to pop on lips). I felt this particular shade is pretty okay with the pigmentation. The staying power is average. I loved the lip balm fixed in the center of the lipstick. It moisturizes my dry lips well. The lipstick tends to melt away easily and its is so soft that it can break too. It has a weird smell which would fade away after sometime. The lipstick goes away without leaving any stains.

Swatches:

FOTD:

  • This particular shade is flattering. It would suit any skintone

CONS:

  • Poor staying power

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Do I Recommend?:

Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick Coral Romance Review, Swatches and FOTD

Today I am going to review the most affordable lipstick available in Indian market, of course an Elle 18 one. Elle 18 has recently launched few new shades and this is one of them. Keep reading to know more about the Coral Romance lipstick from Elle 18 Color Pops range.

Price:

Rs. 100 for 4.3 ml

My Take:

Packaging: This Elle 18 lipstick comes in a black plastic case with a animated girl pouting. The packaging is girly, simple, user friendly and travel friendly. In one word I love the cute packaging.

Color and Pigmentation: This lipstick has a beautiful bright coral shade which every girl would love to have. The best thing about this lipstick is that it gives matte finish and it is free from any kind of shimmer.

The lipstick is extremely moisturizing but the pigmentation is not so good. 2-3 swipes are needed to show the original coral color on pigment free lip.s On pigmented lips this color won’t look good.

Texture and Fragrance: This lipstick has a super soft creamy texture that glides smoothly even on my not so soft lips. It has a sweet fruity smell which is bit irritating for my sensitive nose but thank god the smell does not last longer.

Staying power: As this Elle 18 Color Pop lipstick is extremely moisturizing and creamy it does not last long on my lips. It stays only for 1-2 hours maximum but at 100 INR we can’t really expect more 😛

Overall it is a super pretty shade for fair to dusky skin beauties. if you are a dark skinned beauty then you can give this a pass and go for any other shade from heir range 🙂

My Makeup Look:

PROS:

  • Coral romance is an extremely beautiful shade.
  • The lipstick is Inexpensive
  • It has a moisturising formula
  • Elle 18 lipsticks are easily available
  • The packaging is nice.
  • The lipstick smells okay
  • Gives a good matte finish
  • It is a shimmer free lipstick

CONS:

  • Staying power of this lipstick is not so good
  • Might not suit dark skinned beauties
At this price I cannot think of any other con.

Elle 18 Color Bombs Color Burst Lipstick Spice Ginger Review

Hello lovelies,
For this review I wanted to add some colour and spice unlike my other regular reviews. So, here I am reviewing a lip stick. Yes, I am again having quite some time on my hand and so I am showering reviews here on MABH. Back to the point, today I review a lip stick from Elle 18 color pops in the shade no. 11-Spice Ginger. Hang on all you lippie lovers out there and let’s see how this one fares…

Price & Quantity:

Rs 100/- for 4.3 ml

Shade:

Shade no. 11-Spice Ginger

Key Ingredients:

Cocoa butter. That is what the company claims!

Shelf Life:

30 months from the date of packaging

My Experience:

Packaging: I am sure all of us here are well acquainted with the chic black plastic tube packaging of Elle 18 lip sticks especially the hot pink lip stick sporting bobbed lady on it. I simply love her 🙂

Color, Texture and Pigmentation: The colour is very light, almost sheer. It is a nude brownish colour that will suit those with really light skin color and pink lips. It is a 100% daytime color.

The consistency is very soft and more like a lip balm probably because of the white centre. Easily glides onto the lips. It has a very artificial fruity fragrance to it that irritates my throat.

How it works: From the swatch one can see how pretty and sheer the colour is. I feel that no matter how many swipes one does the colour pay off will be the same. It is a perfect daytime wear and maybe for a small evening out with friends. However this colour will not do any justice to those with pigmented lips as is my case. It is a very moisturizing lip stick and will not settle in the lines.

Now it also comes with these shimmers 🙁 I for some reason run away from them. They are a big turn off for me in lip products. Imagine your lips looking like a disco ball!?? The shimmers wont restrict themselves to your lips  but spread far and wide to make its presence felt all over your face. The staying power too is very minimal of about 1 to 2 hours at the maximum and that too without any meals.

So overall this particular shade could be a hit with most ladies but unfortunately not so with me. I cut it up and used it with some other unused lipsticks and made a lip gloss (DIY). BUT, the shimmers destroyed it for me there too 🙁

PROS:

  • Its affordability
  • Its availability
  • Packaging is cute and chic 🙂
  • Very moisturizing
  • It is a pretty and light colour
  • It is a perfect daytime colour
  • Will suit light skinned ladies
  • Those with light pink colour lips can rock it

CONS:

  • Colour pay off is not very good
  • Does no justice to those with pigmented lips
  • HAS SHIMMERS!!
  • Staying power is very minimum

Rating: 1/5 (But this is my personal rating)

Do I Recommend?:

Yes I would if you don’t mind the shimmers because it is a pretty colour. Plus it is so affordable and pretty.

Would I Repurchase?:

NOPE. I cannot handle SHIMMERS!!
