Elle 18 Nail Pops Nail Enamel Shade 65 Review, Photos, NOTD

Hello girls! As I promised, here is the review of another gorgeous shade from Elle 18’s nail pops collection. This time it is shade number 65 and this is a lovely blue nail polish. So let us get into the review 🙂

Price and Quantity:

Rs 50 for 5 ml

My Take:

I’ve already said in my last review of these nail paints that I love the packaging 😀 It is sturdy (I did manage to drop this particular bottle and it didn’t break! Thumbs up!) and different.

This shade from Elle 18 is one of the most perfect blues I’ve seen in a nail polish. It’s not too light, so it won’t make your hands look dark. It’s not too dark; so that it looks almost black from some angles (I HATE it when nail polishes do that! I may as well have bought black then na?!) It’s just right! Like goldilocks’ bed lol! It is a slightly muted shade of blue, as you can see in the photos. I think it’s perfect for spring and summer!

I’d recommend a clear top coat over this to really make the colour pop. The photos show 2 coats of the nail polish on my nails. I think this colour would look great on the toenails too. I love blue nail polish on toes!

One of the issues I have with this nail polish range is that I wish Elle 18 had named the shades. I’ve never been a fan of just numbers to identify shades, whether it’s in lipsticks or nail polishes or any cosmetic product actually.

NOTD:

PROS:

  • Lovely summer colour
  • Colour stays true
  • Does not chip for a good 2-3 days
  • Inexpensive

CONS:

  • Formula becomes thicker over time

Rating: 4/5 (-1 for the formula)

Final Word:

This gorgeous shade from Elle 18 nail pops should be in your stash, it’s a summer must-have! I also think it’s a lovely summer-to-monsoon transition shade.

I do admit that, at 50 bucks a polish, these are like use (5-6 times) and throw. But I am happy with that, given all the pros. This range has a lot to offer and I think every girl should pick up at least a few shades from it 🙂 It has a variety of shades from subtle (like Elle 18 Nail Color 06 which I’ve reviewed previously) to bright and summery (like this one!) and also it has some glittery nail polishes! If you are willing to compromise a bit on the formula, I’d say go ahead and take your pick!

Elle 18 Nail Pops Nail Enamel Shade 06 Review and NOTD

Hello lovelies!

I’m back with a nail polish review this time, and it is from a super affordable range – Elle 18’s nail pops. I have two shades from this range, 06 and 65. Here I’ll be reviewing 06, which is a neutral brown nail paint with subtle mauve undertones. So let us get into the review 🙂

Price and Quanity:

Rs 50 for 5 ml

My Take:

Packaging: The packaging is what catches your eye. It is like an upside down lollipop which justifies the name nail pops, doesn’t it?! And it is super cute 😀 I found the circular bottle to be such a refreshing change! Plus it is sturdy (good for clumsy people like me!) and doesn’t allow leakage.

Shade: The shade itself is quite interesting because it is such a muted brown. Nail paints these days are full of blues, greens and corals so in a way this really stands out. The main reason I like it is because it is a wearable shade for formal occasions. This can also be used as a neutral base for bright nail art!

It isn’t a true brown though. It has strong mauve undertones as you can see in the photos and the shade looks more mauve than brown from some angles. This makes it a flattering neutral shade for fair to medium skin-toned girls. Plus since isn’t exactly a nude shade, I think this is a good balance between subtle but still eye-catching.

NOTD:

Formula: The formula of the polish started out quite decent, neither too thick nor too thin, but with time and use it has become slightly thicker so a bit tougher to apply (you can see some streakiness in the photos as well). However, I bought this nail paint almost a year ago, and I have used it 4-5 times, which probably means it is almost used up so I’m not really inclined to phrase this as a con. I think that, given its price, the formula is decent and remains so for quite a while. It starts to chip after about 3 days.

PROS:

  • Neutral shade will suit many skin tones
  • Inexpensive
  • Sturdy packaging
  • Colour stays true

CONS:

  • Formula becomes thicker over time
  • Slight bubbling on application after 4-5 uses

Rating: 4/5 (-1 for the issues with consistency over time)

Final word:

This shade is a great choice for girls who are looking for neutrals or wearable nail paints for work. At 50 bucks for a nail polish, these nail paints are ideal for a girl on a budget. Give them a try!

Hope you all liked the review! I’ll soon be reviewing no. 65 too, so do check back!

Elle 18 Black Out Eye Liner Review, Swatches and EOTD

Hello Everyone!

This is my very first makeup product. I brought Elle 18 eye liner when it was first introduced in 2002 when I was 14 yrs old and since then have only used that and no other eye liners (liquid) got my attention. Let’s talk about my HG eye liner liquid now.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 65 for 5 ml

My Take:

This eyeliner comes in a transparent round glass bottle with a cylindrical cap with a screw opening. It has a really good wand and the applicator is extremely thin to get the thinnest possible line on your eyes.

The liner is black in color but not the blackest black. As you can see in the EOTDs below it is more grayish black but black none the less.

This black liquid eyeliner glides on smooth and soft. One single swipe gives extreme rich black and you can layer on if you wish to. It dries extremely quickly so no mess at all. When you splash water it will become gel like but won’t run on your face unless you rub it so its tear proof but not completely water proof.

This eyeliner t stays for as long as you don’t put water on it! That’s why I love it so much. It has no fragrance. A bit mascara type of smell which is not over powering at all. Just really mild.

My Eye Makeup:

First look is winged dramatic line with black eye pencil on lower lash line smudged with a brown eye pencil. No mascara and No Kajal.

Second look is the thinnest possible line on upper lash line with kajal on lower water line with brown mascara to make it look wide. Hope you like it! The second look is the one I usually wear. First look can be built up for Smokey eye looks or party makeup.

PROS:

  • Excellent colour
  • Smooth and soft
  • No allergic reactions till now and i have really sensitive skin
  • Claims to contain rose extract
  • Thinnest line possible
  • Dirt cheap
  • Easily available
  • I can go on and on and on in this list here.. so let me stop!

CONS:

  • Water proof claim is false but well like I care (winks)

Rating: 10/5

Do I Recommend?:

It is a must!

Would I Repurchase?:

I think 25th bottle or something 😀
