How to Fix Your Broken Baked Blush? ~ 5 Step Photo Tutorial

Hi friends,

Today I am here with a totally different post but before starting I want to tell you something. Recently I brought two NYX blushes along with some NYX products from an international site Blanc to Noir. The box arrived pretty fast but with broken blushes. Seeing those blushes my heart broke into pieces. šŸ™ Wondering what a wastage of my money and moreover I have to throw them in dustbin.Ā Then I searched many you tube videos and what I came up? Well, let me share with you šŸ˜€ and I bet you will love it!

As you can see the entire box became colored due to broken blushes and here are the pictures of my broken blushes. So, first thing I did is I brought doctor’s spirit from medicinal store. Well, I used here doctor’s spirit but you can use any spirit containing 50-70% of isopropyl alcohol. As alcohol evaporates quickly.

Step 1: I took an old eye shadow brush and some face wipes [just to clean al the mess] You can wash your hand or brush under water also after the whole process, and the bowl. And now, I transferred all the powder from the blush pan to the bowl.

Step 2: Next with the back tip of the eye shadow brush I crushed the entire giant particle of the blush into more fine powder. the more you crush the more fine will be the powder. This will help you to avoid formation of bubbles in the paste that you are going to make in the next step.

Step 3: Then I poured some amount of doctor’s spirit in to the bowl containing blush powder to make a thick paste with the help of that old brush back tip. As you see the paste is thick like mud. Ā Care should be taken while making the paste as the paste should not be too much runny or too thick, it will be thick like mud. As too much runny paste will let wastage of product and too much thick paste will prohibit you to spread smoothly on pan. My advice is to pour drop wise first then add more if required.

Step 4: Now after mixing the paste transfer it to the blush pan again. Well, may be sometime you will find some paste left over after filling the entire content in the pan. Consider that is a wastage of the paste or you can pour the rest of the paste in a small empty pan and let it dry.

Step 5: Now let the blush pan open for next 24 hours to let the paste dry. My advice is to keep the blush first 12 hours in sunlight so that to avoid any formation of bacteria in it and next 12 hours in air just to let the paste dry and retain to powder form again.

After 24 hours you will found the alcohol evaporates leaving the entire content stick to pan and it became powdery again with same pigmentation, same texture and same color.

It’s true that the NYX mosaic blush comes in a nice mosaic design and NYX powder blush comes with a nice geometric shape which you can’t achieve once it broke by this fixing process but at least you can now fix your broken blush or eye shadows by grinding into powder by this process without throwing it to the dustbin. Ā In this way your money will also save. So next time if you broke any blush or eye shadow, don’t throw. Try this process like me.

Maybelline Shimmer Powder in Rosy Twinkle Review, Swatch & FOTD

by Chand

The world of blogs has been a great experience for me, not just reading and writing, but also grabbing some of the products. Not that I was longing for this product, but I just happened to land on this shimmery product; pretty good and decent product from Maybelline.

Price & Quantity: $3.89 for 10 g

Shade: Rosy Twinkle

Key Ingredients:
(I am attaching the image)

Usage Instructions:
Sweep powder over cheekbones with Expert Tools Face Brush.

My Experience with Maybelline Shimmer Powder in Rosy Twinkle:

Maybelline Rosy Twinkle Shimmer Powder falls into the make up category of blush.

Packaging: This product comes in a flat square cardboard box which has a magnetic flap cover. The top cover is completely transparent which allows seeing the shimmery blush.

Colour &Texture:
The color of the Maybelline Shimmer Powder is named Rosy Twinkle. It definitely has that twinkle in it which makes the cheeks glow. But I do not find it in a rosy blushing shade. It is more of peach on my cheeks.
The texture of this product is dry and powdery. A little touch of the brush on the product brings out lots of powder dust, both on the brush tip and out of the pan too.

How it works: The shimmer powder blush gives a very nice peachy glittery shine to my cheeks. The color of this blush is very dim. A little of the product will give the much wanted shimmers on the cheeks. Some more swipes will give the peach effect.
Since it is too powdery, it is not meant for dry skin people like me. But it has not troubled my skin much. It has not even reacted badly on my skin.
Personally I would like it to be less powdery. The shimmers in this product is just right, neither too bling shiny sparkles, nor too pale for a blush. Though I have dry skin, I still opt for powdered, lightly shimmered blush. That’s my choice.

FOTD:

PROS:

  • Good amount of 10g product provided.
  • Right amount of shimmers in the product.
  • A little is enough for achieving the shimmery look on the cheeks.
  • A peach shade with shimmers.
  • Since the blush is peach shimmers, it would go well with most skin tones.

CONS:

  • Too powdery, more than wanted.
  • A light swipe of the brush on the pan brings out lot of product.
  • Product is not suitable for dry skin

Makeup and Beauty Home Rating: 3/5

Do I Recommend Maybelline Shimmer Powder in Rosy Twinkle?:
Not really a high recommendation. If you want a moderately shimmered blush product, then u may go for this product. This actually does not show much of the color in the initial swipes.

Would I Repurchase
No. I will hunt for some other peach blush.

Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in Grapefruit Jelly Review

Hey All,
I am feeling super lazy today from the morning. I was just swatching some blushes and lip glosses, walking around the house to click pictures in different light settings šŸ˜› without doing any other work. (Signs of a beauty blogger huh) Finally, after the swatch works got over, I washed my face to clear my skin. So after that when I opened my beauty case to find a moisturizer, this cutie caught my eyes.

Yes! It was sleeping there since I got this in my hand. No, I don’t mean that it is a not-so-good product but I didn’t use it much from when I got this.Ā This lovely cookie blusher in Grapefruit Jelly shade from Etude House owns a cute name, packaging and shade. (Oh my! I am loving all the shades names very much šŸ˜€ FYI, I am great foodie!)

My Experience:

Packaging: This is one of the most cutest blushes I own! It comes in a round, soft pink plastic blush pan with a frosted semi transparent lid that shuts tightly. They have provided a cute white puff applicator with this blush and I love it the most. The puff is so soft and has a tiny pink bow on the top of it. Though it looks cute, it is not that useful when it comes to application of the blush. I would suggest a good quality blush brush anytime.

Colour, Texture & Pigmentation: I have no clue why they have named this shade as Grapefruit Jelly but from my view, it looks as a nice matte pink shade which has a slight hint of coral (more on the paler side) with no glitters or shimmers. It is not that chalky but settles matte. This shade looks super natural and is averagely pigmented. And I forget to mention one thing; this blush is fragrance free!

Swatch:

How it works: Though I loved this blush’s packaging, shade and etc, this is not MY shade. I have a dusky-dark skin and it washes me out šŸ™ Unlucky me. This shade grapefruit jelly, though looks natural is more on the paler side thus making it not so suitable for darker skin tones. The shade on the swatch is just untrue to how it looks on the pan. This blush gives a natural pink shade to fairer cheeks.(Just pink and nothing else) It doesn’t even show up on me and if I try to over build, it washes me out! Even though it doesn’t suit me, I wore it a whole day to test the staying power etc. This blush stays good for 5-6 hours (It doesn’t show up on me much so I am not sure about this part) and then fades away evenly. If you’re fair skinned, you can go for this blush. Those who own a pale white skin can use this blush to give a beautiful natural pink flush to their cheeks! Overall, I would say this is a good natural pink blush for the price. They provide a huge quantity too.

Why I like this Blush?:

  • Natural pink shade for everyday wear
  • No shimmer or glitter present, thus making it suitable for day wear
  • Glides softly onto the skin and settles into a lovely matte finish
  • Good pigmentation and stays for 5-6 hours
  • Less fallout; this powder blush is smoothly milled
  • This blush has a decent staying power
  • OMG! This blush is such a cutie pie when it comes to packaging
  • Suits fair to paler skin types very well to give that natural pink flush
  • Huge quantity; hence lasts longer
  • Reasonable price

Why I didn’t like this Blush?:

  • I agree that the applicator puff is cute; but when it comes to blushing, it is of no use
  • This shades washes out dusky-dark skin tones
  • The shade on the pan and the shade on the cheeks looks entirely different!

Makeup and Beauty Home Rating: 3.5/5

Do I Recommend?:
I do recommend this blush to very fair skinned girls who would love to have that bit of natural flush on their cheeks. And if you are a collector of cute looking makeup products, go grab it šŸ˜€

Would I Repurchase?:
Nope. Not for me! This shade doesn’t suit my skin at all. I may try the other shades in future.
