Avon Nail Pro Nail Polish Sweet Mint Review, Swatches and NOTD

Hi All!

Again I am here with one more nail polish review and this time it is from the brand Avon. Avon is a very well known cosmetic brand among all of us. Actually I had owned this nail paint at one of my fellow blogger’s space. I must say it is a very pretty shade. Most of us loved bright color nail paints and this one what belongs to that group. Well read the below lines to know more about it.


Price: 

Rs.119 for 8 ml

 

My Take:

It comes in a regular square packaging which is quite sturdy. It has a good quality applicator which gives opaque coverage after 2-3 coats.

Sweet mint stands for something related to green and that’s what the nail polish shade is. It is a very bright parrot green color. The texture of the nail paint is very thick and creamy but still needs 2-3 coats for best opacity. Due to its thick texture I found it a little difficult to get the even application.

All points are good but the biggest problem with the nail polish is that it doesn’t dries quickly. When you apply the first coat it is okay and dries quickly, but in the second coat it is a headache to dry. You have to wait for at least  half an hour or more and  after applying 2-3 coats it looks so tacky. I personally don’t like it.

The staying power is very low. After 1-2 days the nail paint starts chipping  from the top, but if you apply with a top coat then it may last for a day more. Anyway come to the up and down points of it.

Some things in life are so unpredictable and we are sometimes shocked to see some crazily priced stuff prove to be total disappointments. Agree Right?

While I was in high school I was bitten by the makeup bug and seriously started hoarding makeup. While one loves spending fortunes over makeup in my high school days I was forced to spend only what I got as pocket money. So I was always on the lookout for affordable products and that’s when this amazing lipstick range came into my notice.

These are usually available at offer around Rs.100  to Rs.120 for 4 ml

My Take on Avon Simply Pretty Mango Mania Lipstick:

While we all savor mangoes in our summer (Especially we Bengalis) I was quite unsure whether I would love to have a mango on my lips. Jokes apart, Avon’s catalogues are really misleading and shades are usually way different than the actual color. I was skeptical but my friend (who was the representative) suggested that many people have taken the shade from her and loved it. With the chance of spending a good amount of my pocket money on a product I was least sure of – I placed an order.

The packaging is simple and somewhat low quality. But I was not concerned as long as the lipstick was good. These come in a twist up packaging like usual. The lipstick shade is quite amazing actually and it goes perfectly with my warm yellow toned fair to medium skin tones. The color is a muted orange, it’s not overwhelming at all and looks quite nice when worn. This can be an everyday color too.

The formula of Avon’s Simply Pretty range is quite good. They provide good color payoff, and do not dry the lips out. The lipstick goes opaque in two swipes and covers the good amount of pigmentation I have. The lipstick does transfer and crease when worn over a long period. But I have seen it perform better with a nude lip pencil beneath. The staying power is average like 2-3 hours with snacks. The color does not stain lips and does not fade in patches. The finish of this lipstick is a glossy finish but not too glossy.

  • Gives a beautiful muted orange that can be carried by every skin tone

Why I don’t like this Lipstick?:

  • The lipstick formula is quite soft so needs to be kept in low temp
  • The staying power is average
  • Transfers and creases
  • May accentuate dry patches if present

Will I suggest this to you?:

Yes I will. The color is a superb shade which is quite wearable and looks great on any skin. The price is quite affordable and it’s ideal for those who want some pocket friendly products.

Will I repurchase?:

I am still to finish this one and the sad part is that it has broken from the base, so I have to depot it into a container soon. But if I finish this soon I’m definitely repurchasing.

Well, when almost everyone of you here started your lipstick craze with the traditional lipsticks from your mothers kitty, I started my lipstick craze with Avon Simply Pretty lipsticks. These are super pretty and super affordable to own as many as you want in your vanity table. It made me go gaga over this range and I am still ready to own every single shade from this. wokay, except browns 😀

My Take on Avon Valentine Color Bliss Lipstick Fresh Rose:

To start with, I simply love its packaging. Though it is made up of plastic, it doesn’t look cheap. It is quite sturdy. It looks very cute in a bright magenta (or is it purple?) packaging with a light pink band in between.

The valentine shades are limited editions and the lipstick bullet comes with LOVE embossed on it. That makes it super cute to look at. The shade ‘Fresh Rose’ is a bright pink that can perk up your complexion instantly. It is one shade that you can wear anytime, anywhere. Be in daytime or nighttime, this shade will rock everywhere because of the freshness it adds to the face. It will suit all skin tones from fair to dusky.

Coming to the texture, it actually glides on the lips. No tugging or pulling on the lips. Though it is creamy it is better to use a lip balm under the lipstick. This shade is insanely pigmented, just one swipe can cover pigmented lips. The staying power is just awesome of maximum  5-6 hrs, after which it leaves a soft pink tint. Aww, awsomeness for the price 😀
