How to Lighten Your Skin After Getting Tanned?

Tanning is one avoidable happening if you are living in a hot place like Chennai. We can add Delhi, Hyderabad and other hot cities of India to the list as well. When there are numerous face pack recipes listed on internet to remove sun tan, there is something that should be done right after getting tanned to lighten back our skin tone. And that is what we are going to check in this post. 🙂

Calm Your Skin:

Be it face, hands or legs; soon after reaching home, splash cold water and wash the area which was exposed to sun light. You can use a mild liquid face wash or body wash to clean your skin. Cleansing and calming down your skin soon after getting tanned minimizes the bad effects of tanning – which leads to uneven skin darkening.

Instead of Moisturizer, Use Gel:

Gels work best when it comes to tan removal. Moisturizing your skin with a cold moisturizer or a cold cream will work good too. But if you can smooth some fresh cold aloe gel over tanned skin, it will instantly calm down the burnt skin and reverse the process of darkening up to a great extent.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals and Bleaches:

Okay. So you have a party this week; but unfortunately, you got badly tanned and now you look all dull. Please don’t use bleaches or any other harsh skin lightening chemical on your skin soon after sun exposure. Allow 2-3 days for your skin to get repaired by itself. Using chemical cosmetics after a tan, may lead to skin redness, itchiness and what more – You risk to get even more darker, uneven skin.

Besan, Curd and Glycerin does Wonders!

Mix 2 teaspoons of besan with required curd and few drops of glycerin. Make it a smooth paste. After washing your face, (and other tanned parts) apply this homemade skin lightening face pack all over your skin. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes and relax.

Now wash your face with cold water to see the magic! All you will get is smooth, soft skin with almost no tan. You can use this pack twice to thrice a week for best results. Don’t forget to try this pack at least once; It is my HG DIY one and it does wonders! 😀

Hello beauties!

I am back with another review and this time it is a mild but effective cleansing lotion. Last winter it was so chilly in my city that my skin started getting dry patches every few days. I could not scrub or use soap based face wash on them as it would worsen the condition making it drier than before. Those patches were so ugly; it was getting terrible day by day. My derma saw my skin condition and prescribed me Cetaphil cleansing lotion for sensitive skin.

My Take on Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion:

You know I don’t have any reason to say why would I or anyone else not love this cleansing lotion. It is all in one kind of face wash. It is an all season face cleansing lotion for dry and sensitive skin. I have a friend who gets mad at products having strong smell but when I gave this to her she was super happy as it does not have any smell. To add to this is the perfect consistency of the product that is neither too thick nor too runny.

As per directions I used this to wash my face twice a day and yes I did this religiously everyday, no cheating! This made my dry skin over those patches soft and the dry skin got peeled off gently without any scrubbing. I had to follow this cleansing lotion with my regular moisturizer as I could not track Cetaphil moisturizer offline or even online in India. To be more specific Cetaphil cleansing lotion gently cleans skin without irritating it or making it yell for moisture.

Before doing this review I tried it in makeup removal and voila it works and removes every speck of impurities though one needs effort to get rid of water proof makeup. As I comes in a small bottle so its travel friendly and suits my whole family . And before I forget it works on combination skin too but not if someone is looking for a complete matte look. Do I need to say more, go grab this girls, it is affordable unlike other medicated washes and is cost effective too.

This is my first ever fruit based deodorant. I am more exotic wild flower toned, musky lover. I like sophisticated smells and sometimes flowery only if its wild flowers. This is my first ever fruity smell and funny fact that it’s named the same.

My Take on this Deodorant:

Packaging: It is color coded. It comes in a pink metallic spray bottle and a cute cap on top. I totally love the colour and its very travel friendly as well.

Fragrance: The fragrance is very fruity. It reminds me of strawberries and cherries I think. It stays fruity most of the time. It is a great fragrance for an outing, beach etc. For office wear, I don’t think so. Not one bit of musk in it and I don’t like this one for that reason but pink lovers will love this one. I am more tomboyish. I see pink everywhere when I smell this (wink)

Staying Power: It stays for around 6 hours without losing the scent and then starts fading slowly. It effectively stops body odor and also very good on sensitive skin even (like mine). Their perfume variant is equally good I heard. It turns a bit flowery in the end actually so may be it’s not completely fruity. The bottle lasts for at least 2 months if used daily which most of us don’t so it’s gonna some really long.
