Top 5 Ways to Get Rid of Oily Skin in Summer

Oiliness and summer are two best friends forever! Summer helps ‘oiliness’ to torture oily skinned people with their already oily skin. Results? Super oily skin with dull face! Are you going through such phase? Leave your worries. Follow these Top 5 sure shot ways to get rid of oily skin this summer.

Love Your Face Wash

Being a normal-oily skinned girl, I develop my love over my face wash more in summers 🙂 I just can’t live without my face wash even for half a day. I carry my ‘love’ in my handbag everywhere I go. But don’t ‘over’ love your face wash and use it more than 3 times a day as it might dry out your skin. Wash you face twice or thrice a day with a mild face wash and as many times you can ‘only’ with plain water! This will control oiliness and help you look fresh all the time.
I recommend Himalaya Oil Control Lemon Face Wash for a mild, natural oil clearing experience. I have used it; it smells citrus-y and acts so gentle on skin though it doesn’t control oil for a very long time like harsh chemical based oily clearing products. The milder is better when it comes to skincare!

Don’t Hate Your Moisturizer

Loving your face wash is good but you should never hate your moisturizer, even in summer, even if you have the most oiliest skin in the world! I know, this can be hard. But without moisture, your skin might age soon 🙁 Skin will turn dry, rough and more prone to acne without moisturize. Moisture is the key to young beautiful skin! Don’t panic. ‘Oiliness’ and ‘moisture are two different ways. So get a water based moisturizer instead 😀 If you wish to prepare your oily skin moisturizer yourself, then go check my DIY mattifying moisturizer recipe now. Clean and Clear Oil Free Moisturizer is also one among the good affordable moisturizers for oily skin in India.

Control Oiliness – Don’t Kill It!

My sister experienced the side effects of trying to eradicate all the oiliness from her skin, including the natural moisturize one’s skin need. She was an oily skinned girl and after using so many tough oily clearing products, now she has become the ‘over oily skinned’ girl. When you try to completely say goodbye to the oiliness from your skin, your skin will panic and produce more oil to combat moisturize loss. Hence, just aim control face oiliness in natural ways and don’t kill your skin’s natural moisture however oily your skin is.

Break Up With Fried Foods

This is the most hardest one to follow among all the other tips to get rid of oily skin. But you have to sacrifice something to achieve something, Right? The reason behind your excessively oily skin might be due to the extra oiliness you consume. So cut on fatty foods items.. Nope wait! Cut on unhealthy fatty food items and stick to healthy fat foods such as almonds, seeds etc 🙂 If something is crispy and deeply fried, your tongue might love it but your skin will hate it. If you maintain a healthy relationship between your tongue and your skin, you will fight and defeat the excess oiliness easily 😛 Before you feel to eat something fried, compromise or even cheat your stomach with fresh fruit juices and vegetables. You will soon notice a difference in your skin! You will get not only the oil-free skin, but also a glowing complexion and fit physique.

No Hot Water Please!

Having a warm water shower in early morning may relax you wonderfully. You may prefer hot warm water over cold water to wash your face but wait.. Hot water can strip off natural moisture from you skin like anything and make your skin over produce oiliness to save itself from dryness. More than the harsh oil clearing products, hot water does a better job to fool your skin so stay away as much as possible from hot water in summers. Try washing face with moderately cold water and you will find super duper oil control results in a single day! Believe me.

Sweet Coffee Moisturizing Body Scrub – Do It Yourself

How about having a rich aromatic coffee body scrub done every weekend by yourself? Come let us discover how to prepare this yummy recipe with your kitchen ingredients. The wonder of this coffee scrub is that you don’t even need your moisturizer after scrubbing but still have a moisturized, baby soft skin. Interesting? Check the recipe below and have fun with moisturizing coffee scrub to have a beautiful soft skin!

Ingredients Needed:

  • A cup of coffee beans
  • A cup of sugar
  • A cup of creamy yogurt
  • 5-10 drops of olive oil
  • A scoop of milk cream (Optional)

Method?:

1. Fry the coffee beans in a plain heated pan (in low flame ofcourse) and powder them coarsely. Remember, the powder shouldn’t be very fine as it wouldn’t help much with scrubbing. Instead of preparing your own coffee powder, you can also get a ready made pack from the store but the reason I asked you to grind it yourself is, we only need a ‘coarse’ powder for this scrubbing purpose. Most of the coffee powders available in stores are fine and smooth so better spare some time to fry and grind the coffee beans at home itself.

2. Mix the sugar, yogurt and olive oil to the coarse coffee powder and blend well. If you have extremely dry skin then add a scoop of milk cream to this mixture.

3. All you will get now is a yummy smelling, coco-colored paste. If the mixture is extremely thick, then add a little more yogurt and make it a normal-thick coarse paste. Your yummy sweet coffee body scrub is all ready to use now!

How to Use?:

  • Dip a cotton pad in water and wet your body skin by wiping it with this wet cotton. This process helps with better scrub application.
  • Now take the coffee scrub bowl and apply the coffee scrub all over your body skin.
  • Start scrubbing your body skin gently. Be gentle on the sensitive skin areas and give some more pressure on the harder and rougher parts of the body such as knees, elbows and feet. This process helps removing the hard skin and dead cells from these parts.
  • After scrubbing for 10-15 minutes, close your eyes and relax. Let the aromatic moisturizing ingredients penetrate on your skin.
  • Later, wash your body skin with plenty of cold and clean water or take a shower.
  • Your luxurious coffee scrubbing process is finally done! All you see now is your refreshed, soft and silky smooth body skin. If followed every week, this body scrub will improve the skin complexion, removes uneven tone and removes sun tan naturally.

Note:  You can also add few drops of your favorite essential oil to this recipe for an extra aroma.
