Khadi Mix Fruit Handmade Herbal Soap Review

Hey all!

I am a shower gel person. I hardly use soaps. But for the summer I decided to take a break from shower gels and try out a glycerin based soap. I’ve been using Khadi Fruit Soap throughout the summer and here is my take on the product.

Claims:

Price & Quantity:

Rs. 54 for 125 gm.

Shelf Life:

2 years from the date of manufacture

My Experience:

The packaging is very simple. The soap is wrapped in a transparent plastic sheet. No cardboard packaging. It has labels on both the sides with the details of the soap. I’m not going to complain about the packaging as it is manufactured in a small scale industry. What matters is the actual product and compared to other drug store brands, this one is way better.

This soap has a strong fragrance which is not fruity at all to my senses. It smells strongly of coconut oil (at least for me). The ingredient list doesn’t mention any fruits. So this is quite confusing! Anyway! I can bear the smell. It’s okay for me but for sensitive noses it might be unbearable. The fragrance doesn’t linger on after bath though.

The soap has a smooth texture and lathers up really well with a loofah. You can get clean feeling only upon using a loofah. The soap gets rinsed off easily and doesn’t leave behind any slippery feel. I haven’t used this soap on my face. So I’m not sure about how it works on facial skin. For my face I prefer to use my daily cleanser.

This is a very refreshing soap. I can feel my skin squeaky clean. This is what I need for summers. It did not dry up my skin. I don’t feel the need to apply a body lotion after bath. This soap may be drying during winter though. This is perfect for summer use.

Initially I used to find it difficult to grip the soap due to its large size but with regular use the edges soften and the size reduces which becomes easy to use. This soap won’t last for more than a month. This is not a con for me as this proves that the soap is chemical free.

I like the fact that it is herbal and free from chemicals. I’ve already finished one bar and using the second one. The soap looks like a piece of fruit cake to me! Cute!

Continuous usage for over a month now, has made my skin really soft. Kudos to that!

Coming to the pricing, I feel it is economically priced since the quantity is more and it is a herbal product which will not affect your skin in any way.

There are plenty of variants in the Khadi Soap range. You can check them out on their website and you can also buy them from their site.

My Mini Elle 18 Haul and Photos

Hey All!

How was your day? The weather has got down to not-bad mode from hot-hot mode today in Chennai and I am feeling much better. After reading so many reviews on Elle 18 lipsticks here on our MABH, I finally made a mini haul on Elle 18 products last week. Here comes the haul and photos! And don’t forget to check the last photo of this post.. It was my lunch today – the chilli capsicum chicken fry! 😀

Products Purchased:

I first cart-ed the lipstick in Pinken Shade. And along with it, I picked up three more products from Elle 18 just because I loved the cute girly packaging in my favorite black color. I purchased the Elle 18 Kajal in Black Shade (There is only one shade available!), and 2 Elle 18 Nail Pops of shades 07 and 37.

Pinken Lipstick is one of the most natural pink lipsticks available at this affordable price! I am using it for past one week and I don’t know how to explain how much I love it. Being a 100 bucks lipstick, I had no much expectation about this one but now I realized that this lipstick is very worthy for the dirt cheap price! Okay I stop here; I will tell more about this lipstick in a detailed review later 🙂

Now coming to the nail colors.. These Elle 18 Color Bombs Nail Polishes are good too for this price! They cost Rs.50 each and doesn’t hurt my pocket at all. The shade 07 is a natural baby pink nail color whereas the shade 37 is a beautiful deep plum purple nail color! Both are shimmer-less.

These 2 nail colors from Elle 18 are daily wearable nail colors for school teens, college/office goers. There are many more shades to try out from Elle 18 Color Pops Range! I am soon gonna haul again 😀

We always search for those water-proof long staying kajals. Right? Who here is not kajal crazy hmm? But just think, when you are going out for just 10-15 minutes, may be to a grocery store, would you dare to apply that water proof thick kohl? and remove it with your makeup remover once you come back home? Hmm not a good idea!

As much as we love long staying kajals, we need those easy-to-remove kajals too in our vanity case! This kajal is one of that kind. Morever, it looked cute too 😀 So I just picked it!

Maybelline ClearGlow Shine Free BB Stick Fawn Review, Swatches

Hello Everyone!

Today, I am going to review Maybelline BB Stick, a highly raved product after the Maybelline BB Cream. I have tried the latter before and it made my skin ghastly white and oily so never had a second thought to use it again. Once this BB stick was launched, I wasn’t that tempted to try it and I had no belief on the ‘matte’ effect to be frank. Let us check how it fared.

Price:

Rs.250 for 10g

My Take:

The BB stick comes in a beautiful turquoise colored twist up tube, in a stick form. The tube packaging makes it very handy, user friendly and travel friendly.

This stick come in 2 shades (Read only two shades!) namely Radiance and Fawn. The shade radiance is meant for fair to medium skin tones whereas the fawn is for dusky to medium skin tones. Fawn is a medium-light shade with yellow undertones. Indian dark beauties will never find this shade good on their skin 🙁 My skin tone is tad darker than fawn; I have a dusky-dark skin tone. Fortunately, the shade somehow blends on my skin and matches without leaving a white caste behind. The shade choices are too bad really! Only two shades for all Indian skin tones? That is not fair at all.

It has a smooth texture that glides easily onto the skin. You have to immediately blend this after applying it over your face and it blends like a dream! Seriosuly..! It is much more better than the BB cream in terms of blending. After blending, it settles into a fine matte finish. The coverage is medium.

While coming to the staying power.. It stays on my skin for about 6 hours without melting. But the 12 Hr Shine control claim.. Are you kidding? It turns my T Zone oily in 2-3 hours (Credit goes to Chennai’s Summer). And after that I need to touch up my face with a compact. I use it in a light hand as it is not the perfect shade for me and till now I haven’t experienced any side effects such as breakouts, allergies with this BB stick! (I am using it for past few ways)

Before and After Applying:

Overall, it is a tricky product I would say. If it matches your skin tone perfectly, you will LOVE it like anything! If it doesn’t, then you are going to be disappointed. Maybelline… Please introduce some more shades! Please!

PROS:

  • Handy and travel friendly packaging
  • Easy to use stick form makeup
  • Feels light on my skin
  • Medium coverage
  • Affordable price
  • Easily available
  • Smooth, easily blend-able texture
  • Not dry or patchy
  • Causes no breakout
  • Evens out skin tone with regular use
  • Staying power is good
  • Settles into matte finish
  • A good daily use makeup stick for everyone!

CONS:

  • 12 hr shine free claim is totally false!
  • Dry skinned ladies will need a moisturizer beneath.
  • Only 2 shades..!!? Grrr

Rating: 4/5

Do I Recommend?:

Yes! This product is so much better than the BB Cream from the same brand in terms of blending and matte finish. This one has become many girls HG makeup stick too! But keep in mind to swatch test the BB stick before buying it to know whether any one of these two shades suiting your skin tone or not.

Would I Repurchase?:

May be.. not sure! Whatever I put on my skin, turns my T zone greasy like hell due to this South Indian peak summer. I guess my winter skin will love it 🙂 Currently I am using this makeup stick as my everyday eye makeup base and it works excellently. If it suits me well in winter, I might buy it again.
