Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil Jaded Review

Hey All!

Colorbar is quite popular in India for their awesome eye pencils and lipstick range. Most of us have at one point of time encountered upon this very cost effective brand which offers a great makeup range. I first tried their Velvet Matte Range and was so overwhelmed by their performance that I have bought more that 3 of them. This Colorbar I glide pencil in the shade ‘Jaded’ is one of their top sellers and are very often out of stock both online and at counters. Luckily I have this with me and am very happy because I got it.

Well Colorbar I glide pencils come in many some very beautiful and vibrant shades like Flirty Turq, Blackout, Cocobar, Glowing Sapphire, Electra, Silver Hue, Coal mine, Passionate Gold, Prunella, Amethyst Spark. While I am totally sold on blues I see they seldom look good on me, so I tried this one. This is a true ‘Jade’ shade and will suit most Indian skin tones. I’m fair to medium and it suits me quite well.

Price:

Rs.350

My Take:

The product comes in a metallic colour packaging with the shade name and color indicated on the opening. The ingredient list and other details are given on the box. The pencil comes in a metallic packaging with a silver colour cap to help it protected. The pencil’s end is color coded so that you can find it easily in a bunch.

The product is very smooth and glides on the lids without any kind of tug or pull. One swipe is enough to give you intense color. If you want to make it more intense you can layer it. But for me one swipe is enough. And after a few seconds the liner settles on your lids and then it’s waterproof and I have seen it stay nearly the whole day without any flaking or smudging.

The color intensity does fade after nearly 8 hours but the color stays put and only after a few swipes of the makeup remover it gets removed completely. On my waterline where some great pencils have failed, it stayed 4 hours (Wow!!!) and did not irritate my eyes.

So those looking for a great pencil that will stay till you are plain bored of it then look no further. These come in some cool shades and give great performance.

PROS:

  • Attractive Packaging
  • Cost efficient
  • Easy to use even for beginners
  • Stays on till you remove it with a makeup remover
  • Will not smudge or transfer
  • Gives a metallic colour look to your eyes
  • No irritations if used on waterline
  • Stays on waterline for 4 hours (OMG!!!!!!)

CONS:

  • A very popular color in their range and gets out of stock quite regularly
  • One needs makeup remover/oil to remove it completely

So do I recommend?:

Hell Ya!!!(Supernatural Style) I’m so impressed with these that I’ve planned to buy the purple and the blue one as well 🙂

Will I Repurchase?:

Yes, yes. I am all ready to purchase more. If I get bored with this color I’ll purchase the other colours. But this color is truly awesome guys a must have for those with brown eyes/hazel eyes!

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer Princess Review

Hello Everyone!

Wet and wild is a very popular brand in US and it is specifically popular for their budget products at low prices. One of them is this color icon bronzer in the shade princess. We Indians are blessed with tanned skin and seldom need a bronzer on a daily basis.

Well those who follow YouTube will know that Bronzer is a phenomena in western countries so I thought why not give it a try and check out the awesome range of products that wet n wild offers. I loved this shade especially for its name (Princess). Well, who would not want themselves to feel like princesses?

Price and Quantity:

$2.99 for 4gm

My Take:

The packaging of these blushes are quite simple and look cheap. Well they are cheap and I’m not complaining at all. I found that the packaging is fine for travelling as well as the casing locks tightly and comes with a brush for application purpose too. The brush provided can do the touch up work quite efficiently.

The bronzer looks quite dark in the pan but you will see in the swatch that it becomes quite light when it’s swatched. I use my ELF bronzing brush to apply it and have found that it does the work quite nicely. I loved how subtle the shade is. While with time I’ve found out that Bronzer is not really my thing on my Sister though it looks very nice. As it has very minute shimmer particles it can be used to contour as well.

I’ve used it to contour on an occasion and found it did a great job. Whilst I am looking for a good contouring powder for my skin tone I am doing away with thus one. For those with fair to medium skin tone this can work really well.

PROS:

  • Fuss free packaging
  • Easy to locate shades due to transparent top
  • The brush included does a decent job
  • Price is relatively cheap

CONS:

  • Availability
  • Shade might not work for dusky skin tones.

Rating: 3.5/5

So will I suggest this to you?:

Yes, and no. Well, yes to those who are looking for a bronzer at a reasonable price and no to those who are looking for good pigmentation and have dusky skin tone can give this a miss.

Will I Repurchase ?:

No, I’ll try some good matte powders like the NYX blush in ‘Stone’ for contouring. Bronzers are not really a necessity for me.

Original Source Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel Review

Well, some of you may not be aware of the brand ‘Original Source’ – well I don’t blame you; I was unaware of it before last year. But when I ran out of my Palmolive Shower Gel I really wanted to try something new. While on such a new shower gel hunt I heard of this awesome shower gel from a blog and ordered it online. And I am so happy I did. Original Source is a brand manufacturing Vegan skincare products and they sell very less outside UK.

Like most women I love Raspberry as well as Vanilla flavored stuff so when I got this in my hand the first thing I did was to check it’s fragrance. And I was so happy with it. Read on to know how I love it.

Price and Quantity.

I am quite happy with it. The Product retails for Rs 195 for 250 ml.

My Take:

Packaging of this Shower gel is quite unique; the shower gel bottle is made out of recyclable plastic which is sturdy enough for travel. The cap is a square flip top cap which closes properly and the bottle is kept upside down and its unique shape is quite cute. The packaging for me is another reason why I was so eager to try this. It has bold cute fonts used for the front. Even the instructions on the back are quite different from what you see every day.

The product is a pale pinkish in color and comes out smoothly. The consistency is not very runny and it lathers average. So those who love lots of lather will be disappointed with this one. The fragrance for me seems heavenly as if they have really squeezed raspberries and vanilla milk into this yummy bottle.

Well! You must have already guessed I love this Shower Crème. The smell may be too sweet or overwhelming for those with a sensitive nose but I love it. It’s the perfect treat for the body. But the fragrance stays for half an hour max after shower and fades quickly
.

But the shower gel cleans effectively and does not leave residues on the skin. It washes off completely and gives me a fresh and supple skin.

PROS:

  • Cute packaging
  • Affordable pricing
  • Vegan product and recyclable packaging
  • Smells heavenly
  • Cleans effectively
  • Does not leave behind residue over skin and washes off quickly

CONS:

  • Availability
  • Smell does not stay long enough

Rating: 4/5 (1 Deducted for availability and very less staying power of fragrance)

Do I Recommend?:

If you love Vanilla and Strawberry/Raspberry smells and do not possess a very sensitive nose then give this a try. It’s vegan and will make your shower time more fun.

Will I Repurchase?:

Yes, I will. also I have my eyes on the mint and tea tree one as well (I hear it gives a tingling sensation :P)
