Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick Catwalk Red Review, Swatch and FOTD

Hello MABHians!

Today I am very excited because this is the second time I am going to review any lipstick. I do not have lots of makeup products, for me using little kajal and a tinted moisturiser is more than enough. I own only 4 lipsticks (all are gifted by my sister) and this one is one of them.

Price & Quantity:

Actual price of this Oriflame lipstick is Rs.449 but my sister got this for Rs.250 during some offer.

Shelf Life:

24months

Availability:

Available through oriflame representatives only but this not a problem for me because I have some friends who sell Oriflame products 😉

My Experience:

Packaging: These lippies come in a card box and the color of the box depends on the shade as this shade is called red the box comes in red color. The lipstick is a twist up type one and looks extremely girly. It has a pretty off white plastic body with some red flowers or something like that 😛

Color: Oriflame should change the name of this product as it is completely a misleading name! The shade of this Oriflame Lipstick is not at all red. Its a bright peachy pink color which would look stunning on white skin gori gori girls. It does not look that good on me as you can see in the pictures below. Hence I will not recommended this so called red lipstick to wheatish to dark skin beauties 🙁

Texture: The texture of this Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick is extremely creamy and soft. No matter how dry lips you have, this catwalk lipstick glides smoothly without any hardness. But there is a problem; i.e if you swipe the lipstick for more than 2-3 times it looks very uneven and I don’t know why this happens. It’s a big con of this product.

Swatch:

Smell: It has a mild fruity smell which hardly last for few minutes. Actually it is a pro for me as I cant stand anything with overpowering smell.

Pigmentation: This lipstick is decently pigmented. One swipe would be enough to show up the original colour on pigment free lips. Pigmented lips like me need more than 1 swipe.

Staying power:
As it has a very creamy moisturizing formula it hardly stays for 2.5hours on my lips. And it melts crazily, if someone use this daily it will get finished within 30-40days. 🙁

I was extremely excited to get this on my vday (I

So over all I like the shade but hate the texture! (Just my personal opinion)

PROS:

  • This lipstick is from a repudiated brand
  • Complete ingredients list is given.
  • Oriflame does not test on animals
  • It’s a beautiful shade which will look great on fair skin beauties
  • It has very mild scent which is not at all bothering for sensitive noses
  • Soft texture
  • Suitable for dry lips
  • Does not irritate my lips

CONS of Oriflame Triple Core Lipstick Catwalk Red:

  • Extremely bad texture; it settles unevenly if applied too much
  • Overpriced (Unless you buy it on some offer days)
  • Availability is a problem for some
  • This peachy pink lipstick will wash out dark skinned beauties
  • Bad staying power

My FOTD:

Would I Repurchase?:

Hmmm no.. I am not at all happy with the texture of this particular lippy shade. My sister has a same lippy which is far better texture wise; I am wondering how

Would I Recommend?:

If you have fair skin or have confident to carry any shade you might try this shade. I will not recommended this particular lippy to anyone due to my experience.

Rating: 2.5/5

(-2.5 for bad texture, availability and staying power)

How to Make Chocolate Lip Scrub at Home? – Do It Yourself

Hello Everyone!

I have heard a lot about Lush chocolate lip scrub but as it is very expensive I did not buy it. Instead I made my own lips scrub using chocolate. Doesn’t it sound yummy? Today I am going to share my secret recipe with you all. Check out this DIY recipe and try it yourself.

Dairy Milk Lip Scrub

  • A tea spoon sugar
  • A ladle

Chocolate Skin Benefits:

  1. It has powerful anti-oxidant properties and is considered to be a health food.
  2. Chocolate has skin softening properties, probably as it contains cocoa butter.
  3. It is used to smooth out wrinkles due to the anti-oxidant properties.
  4. The anti-oxidant properties prevent the free radicals from causing damage to the skin’s elastin, other protein and collagen.
  5. It has a nourishing effect on the skin.
  6. One can exfoliate the dead skin cells and regenerate news ones with chocolate.
  7. Hydration of the skin is possible.
  8. Chocolate is a good moisturizer.
  9. It rejuvenates the skin.

Coconut Oil Skin Benefits:

  1. Coconut oil is a great moisturizer for dry skin.
  2. It adds glow to the skin.
  3. It improves the skin texture
  4. Coconut oil helps healing sun burn

Coffee Skin Benefits:

  1. Coffee is rich in antioxidants
  2. It works great as exfoliator
  3. It helps removing the dead skin cells

Sugar Skin Benefits:

  1. Sugar has alpha hydroxyl acid which is great for dead cell removing.
  2. It does not clog pores.
  3. Sugar helps in eliminating blemishes.
  4. Sugar restores skin’s moisture balance.

Preparation Method

1. Take 2 chocolate pieces in a ladle.

2. Add coconut oil to the chocolate and heat the mixture.

3. Mix chocolate and coconut oil together.

4. When it starts melting add the coffee powder and sugar. Heat this mixture for another 3-4 minutes.

5. Your at home coffee lip exfoliating scrub is all ready to use now!

How to Use?:

1. Cool down the heated mixture and apply it over your clean lips.

2. Leave it on for 5 minutes and scrub gently with finger lips.

3. Wash away with cold clean water and put on a lip balm.

If you follow this process regularly, I mean twice in a weak you could definitely feel the change in one month. Your lips will become smooth, soft and it will also reduce pigmentation on lips.

Avon Simply Pretty Color Last Lipstick Almond Beige Review

Hello lovely ladies.. How are you all? Hope you all are fine. I am back with another review today and this review is on an Avon lippy. To be very frank I am not too much into makeup. For me applying a lil compact, eyeliner and kajal is more than enough. Somehow I always think whenever I apply lipstick it makes me look more ugly 😛 But this lippy just proved me that was wrong: and I am really happy for that. Today I am going to review this on my favorite blog, of course here at  Makeup and Beauty Home 😀 Okay, now let us see how it works on me. Keep reading!

Product Description:

  • Get velvety color that lasts long, stays fresh and keeps lips soft and moisturized.
  • Gentle long-lasting lipstick with anti-oxidants and SPF 12 UVA/UVB
  • Lasts up to 4 hours
  • Transfer resistant

Price: Rs.299

Shade: Almond Beige

My Experience with this Product:

Packaging: It comes in a dark violet pack. The packaging looks okay and it is sturdy enough to be travel friendly; no complaints.

Colour and Texture: The colour of this Almond Beige lipstick from Avon justifies the name. It actually looks like almond but after applying on the lips it looks so different. Sometimes it looks pinkish brown sometimes orangish brown. Sometimes brown! No I am getting confused 😛 I am very poor at describing colours so have a look at my swatch and FOTD. The texture is of lipstick is so creamy, buttery and soft. It is so soft that it tends to break or melt if not stored in refrigerator.

How it works: One can easily apply this lipstick over their lips without any hardness as it glides in a smooth manner. This lipstick is nicely pigmented and stays on my lips for 3-4 hours as per the claims. This shade suits almost every Indian skin type and thus can be wore daily for casual outings and even for work. Overall, this lipstick suits everyone beautifully and the lippy beginners out there can pick this without any second thought.
