Avon Naturals Fairness Bar Soap Review

by Arshita

Hello pretty women! Gone are the days when ladies used soaps on their faces (the thought even scares me now). And when I saw a soap named as fairness bar made me think, ‘fairness for body?’  Anyhow, I had to try this soap and today I am going to share my experience of using this Fairness Bar Soap with you all.

Rs. 75 for 100g.

Usage Direction:

Wet body. Apply bar soap directly onto skin. Work into a creamy lather. Rinse thoroughly. Use daily.

Shelf Life:

3 years.

Key Ingredients:

My Take on Avon Naturals Fairness Bar Soap:

Avon Naturals Fairness Bar Soap is baby pink in color and quite large in quantity. The smell is very soapy, if you know what I mean; yet nice.

It lathers pretty well. Also, it is easy to wash off; it does not leave any slippery feel. It cleans skin very nicely. The nice flowery smell stays for a while. It has been a long time since I have used any normal soap, and I still remember some of the soaps that leave a white cast on the body for some reason. Well, luckily I did not experience anything like that with this soap. Also, it gives me some kind of satisfaction when I did not find SLS in the ingredients list.

It makes my skin squeaky clean and also never dries out. This is what really surprised me that after using this soap, I did not feel the urge to use body lotion (saved my time!). My semi-dry skin on the body was perfectly balanced in moisture after using this soap. But, as per its name, I did not notice any fairness affect (not that I expected!).

Overall, I liked this soap, it is worth using. It did not do any bad to my skin, moreover, it kept my skin soft and moisture for longest time.

The Good Points:

  • Herbal Soap.
  • Good quality soap.
  • Fair pricing.
  • Quite large quantity.
  • Smells nice.
  • Cleans skin very well.
  • Does not leave any slippery affect.
  • Keeps skin soft and moisturized.
  • Gentle soap.

The Not-So-Good Points:

  • There is none!

MABH Rating: 5/5. (See it as a normal soap, forget the name)

Do I Recommend?:

Yes, it is a nice soap for daily use.

Would I Repurchase?:

Maybe not. I am not really a soap user. 😛

Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara Review

by Arshita

Hola bonitas,
How are you all doing? Today I am going to review Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara. Lakme’s Eyeconic and Absolute range have created turmoil in the minds of Indian beauties; hence I also wanted to give it a try. So, here are the details.

Product Description:

Intense black finish, enriched with D-Panthenol, keeps lashes soft and smooth. Makes eyes look better. Easy to apply.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 250 for 9ml.

Usage Direction:

Start with the upper lid. Brush the underside of lashes in upward strokes. Next with downward strokes brush the upper side of the lashes of the lower lid.

Shelf Life:

2 years.

My Take on Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara:

Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara comes in a sleek black long packaging. The mascara wand is long, actually longer than usual and the brush area is curled. The liquid inside is thick and black.

The curled brush sure makes the application easier. One or two strokes give a body and volume to my lashes. The only thing I did not like is it leaves clumps on the lashes. I tried to remove it with its brush and also with eye grooming brush, but it was still there. Now, I might be wrong about this, but honestly, I thought my lashes would look better without the clumps.

The intense black color makes my eye lashes and also my eyes look bigger and prominent. It is instructed to use makeup remover to remove this Curling Mascara, but plain water will be enough to do the job. So, you can sense that this mascara is not waterproof, not that it claimed also. It is very easy to remove from the lashes, which is a relief for me. I hate spending time rubbing my lashes to remove mascara; it makes me worry about losing a few lashes in that process. 😛

Overall, I loved this mascara, it color, its long wand. And most of all, getting a pretty dramatic eyes in only Rs. 250 mascara that too from Lakme is a big win.

On My Eyes:

The Good Points:

  • Good Brand.
  • Intense black color.
  • Easy to apply.
  • Curled brush for better application.
  • Cost Effective.
  • Easy to remove.
  • Gives a dramatic look.

The Not-so-Good Points:

  • Leaves clumps.

MABH Rating: 4.8/5.

Do I Recommend?:

Yes. It is great mascara in Rs.250 range.

Would I Repurchase?:

Yes!

How to Keep Your Hands Soft and Beautiful?

by Arshita

Hello everyone!
Hands are working all time, writing, eating, washing, on the computer, cooking. The lack of proper care may lead to tanned rough hands very soon. To keep your hands soft and beautiful will need special care, and no, once in a manicure is not enough for your hard-working hands. They need pampering.

The simple ways to keep your hands soft:

  • Always wear gloves while doing any work related to water or dust like doing the dishes or gardening. Rubber gloves are recommended, but do not wear these while cooking, the heat may damage it.
  • Avoid all time washing your hands. Some people have this bad habit to wash hands every time they do anything, the best way is do all your work and when you are done, wash your hands with a mild hand wash.
  • Whenever you are done all the messy works, wash your hands and apply moisturizer immediately. Keep a hand cream or lotion or your body lotion handy, keep a smaller file in your handbag also.
  • Get a manicure done once or twice a month from a nail salon or spa. You can do it at home also, using the proper technique (cleansing, scrubbing, pack and massage).
  • Massage your hands whenever you are sitting free. While watching TV or just sitting by the window, apply a little cream on your hands and gently massage both your hands one by one. I know it would be perfect if someone would do it for you, if you have someone to do it then ask for it.
  • Once in a week, use scrub in your hands. You can use store bought ones or homemade scrubs. For homemade scrubs: mix one whole lemon juice with one tablespoon salt and one tablespoon sugar and add some olive oil. Massage your hands with this scrub.
  • Always wear sun-block on your hands before stepping out. Exposed to harsh UV rays will tan your skin and make it rough.
  • Baking soda mixed with water is a good solution to clean your hands. When you don’t have time for manicure, dilute your hands in this solution and gently rub with a brush for 5 minutes. You will get fresh clean hands instantly, and never forget to apply moisturizer after that.
  • Apply moisturizer after every 2-3 hours. Staying in an air-conditioned room for long hours will tend to dry out hands. Keep them well moisture by applying lotions and moisturizers.

Homemade packs to keep your hands beautiful:

  • Cucumber juice and glycerin: mix two tablespoon of cucumber juice mixed with one teaspoon of glycerin and apply this on your hands every day. Massage it for 5 minutes and wash off with water. This will keep your hands fresh and moisture.
  • Milk cream, almond powder, honey and lemon juice: Mix all the ingredients and apply on your hand; keep it for 20 minutes and wash off. This will help lighten the tan on your hands while keeping them soft.
  • Egg whites and honey: mix one egg white and two tablespoon honey; apply the paste on your hands. Wash off after 30 minutes. The egg white will keep your hands youthful and tight.
  • Honey and Orange juice: it is a great tan removal pack. Mix one tablespoon honey and three tablespoons of orange juice. Apply it on your hands after coming home. This will help reduce the damage due to scorching sun rays.

Keep your hands dry and warm to keep them soft and beautiful. Use homemade packs twice a week to reduce the damage and get fresh looking attractive hands. Stay healthy and stay happy.
